I understand people being worried more than making baseless accusations because of those fears, which is what's happening on many of the posts.

Again the "Grooming gangs are asian therefore shows institutional abuse in those cultures" goes against the evidence. There were famous gangs of all white male grooming gangs in this country many famously at a political level and others. From the 2020 report 1,231 perpetrators of "group and gang-based child sexual exploitation", 42% were white, 14% were defined as Asian or Asian British and 17% black.

But again, Dave the plumber knows someone who knows someone who knows someone who read it on tiktok

And BTW no one is saying people don't have bad experiences but its a throwback to the 70s and 80s where people would have a bad encounter with someone from a different race or religion and use it as a stick to beat them all with............

BAME (20% of the population) account for the remaining 58% of perpetrators.

Your figures show that BAME are almost 3x more likely to *struggle cuddle* children than white people.

These are your figures remember. It seems that Dave the plumber is onto something.

When you look at the figures from the MoJ and look at religious groups in prison.

Christians, 60% of the population, make up about 45% of the prison population.

Muslims, 4%, of the population, make up 16% of the population.

How can you have an honest debate, if you are not telling the whole truth about the what the figures show?

Don't want to come across as anti Ukranian but in amongst all the discussions this week there's been barely any mention of how all this increased aid is going to be paid for. As a country we're already heavily in debt with crumbling public services and numerous other issues including sky high cost of living. More aid likely equals more borrowing and higher interest payments unless taxes are raised or money is diverted elsewhere. I think there needs to be a proper conversation about it, we know that increased poverty leads to higher mortality for example.

I feel like at the moment there's a tendency to blame Putin for everything wrong in the country, Russia aren't responsible for social issues, jobs, economy, public services, health etc yet these are huge issues that aren't factored into the aid mix.

I'd like us to provide aid but just think we need to be realistic about how much we can provide given how the UK is today.

I thought it was heavily publicised -from the international aid budget -the minister resigned last week.

2 - Unless the 16% of Muslims in prison are all in prison for sexual offenses then those stats don't relate consistently with the topic, there will be undoubtedly other crimes in that 16% which means your point does not counter the stats I posted.............

The aid budget is the tip of an iceberg. The sums we are about to spend on arms will be paid for by spending less on other things. At a time when public finances are squeezed - we spend more than we receive in tax. Someone has to pay. Funding for services and people in the UK will take a hit.

1) Okay, lets use "your" figures for "grooming gangs" which is what you were discussing right? Grooming Gangs?

3) The figures you supplied on the graph, we have an issue, as the police forces haven't recorded the ethnicity of 28.7% of child sex offenders ethnicity not being recorded, up from 5.6% in 2011.

The ethnicity of victims are also not being recorded. I wonder why?

Again conflations and statistical illiterate response. You are making the assumption that all 16% of prisoner are in jail for the same crime, they are not, so where is the breakdown of crimes which attributes CSE to all 16% of those in jail.

Your whole argument hinges on "They are doing more its just not being reported" well as much as I agree about with that about sexual crimes, because women don't report them alot of the time, I think you could likely attribute that to being raped by powerful people at work, the city is rife with it apparently, I doubt they are all Muslims though and likely rich powerful white bosses taking advantage of their staff, but at least I can admit thats just a guess because the stats are not available

I don't read papers, I rarely watch the news, I get up at 7:30 and I work, I stop around 6:00 and then I watch rubbish on series (currently Mr Mercedes).........so no, no Guardian reader here............Although I love you showing your ars3 by posting the Daily Mail........well done for confirming what many of us likely already thought
