Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Just joining in on the favourite cities tangent...

Mexico City, Paris, Copenhagen, Melbourne, Buenos Aires, Moscow and St.Petersberg are all favourites. Used to love Rio. Will always love Manhattan even though it is not the same as it was 20 years ago...but Mexico City is thrilling!!! And with Chich's reminder, I must add Rome (epic always) and Florence (had some great times there)...I'll even throw Venice in there but must be done in early Spring or late Autumn as otherwise the heat is too much.

Naples you have to know locals. And ideally for them to have a yacht! Lots of beautiful old squares, parties, a stunning coast, sail to Capri. Still not sure if my friends father is connected.

The other thing you might appreciate is the complete freedom. Rules are not really observed. Traffic lights just for decoration, and you can truly express yourself as a driver exploiting literally any space available! Payments etc.

Ps Havana is very safe. Not like Naples. Would take kids there. Plenty of nature outside the city too.

I think there's different categories for living and visiting. I'd choose London to live in by a long long way, fabulous city that really has everything.

For visiting my favourites are probably Tokyo and Seville. Love Sydney by the harbour as well but painful getting around and you can't drink late.

I'm not concerned about it being dangerous, I just want to enjoy it!

Capri is beautiful but I consider it more Sorrento/Positano which are more my kind of place than Naples.
 
I wonder how much the majority can be eroded before the next election?

Rayleigh and Wickford, annoyingly, is one of the safest Tory seats imaginable, so a by-election (should anything happen to disrupt Mark Francois’ career) wouldn’t change any parliamentary maths.

Churchill in gallipoli perhaps.

If the tories want to stay in they need to get rid of him a year out from the next election. Dont see how they keep all their one time northern votes.

Im going labour as to long of one party is bad in my view. As long as kier does not try to take us back in the EU which from talking to my eldest sister who works for the civil service, we are not really leaving anyway.

So a Tory MP has been arrested for sexually assaulting a member of staff. Which one I wonder. Rees Mogg made aware of the allegations a month ago apparently.

It's *struggle cuddle* no, not sexual assault?

So, i get that people are innocent until proven guilty, and that is the right way our judiciary works.

However, surely this individual needs to have the whip withdrawn until such time the conclusion has been made? For example, let's say a new *struggle cuddle* law is passing through the house, how can we have someone facing a *struggle cuddle* charge having the ability to vote on a *struggle cuddle* law? What if said person is found guilty after that vote?

Truly remarkable. Not saying sack them, but should not be allowed to vote on laws facing such a charge until police investigation concluced.

Wouldn't that make it a little too simple to just accuse MPs you didn't want sitting in certain votes?

In the unlikely event that such an extreme set of circumstances were to actually come together wouldn't an abstention, 'encouraged' if necessary, be a sensible middle ground?

I don’t know about this, mud sticks, and never really washes off, innocent until proven guilty is important.

The system needs to speed up, it shouldn’t take this long to investigate such accusations.
