So you're happy to just throw assertions that I'm lying about a variety of jobs I've supposedly had but you can't remember the details.....sounds about right. Is this another piece of sarcasm or humour i'm too thick to understand?

No its a characterisation built up over a period of time, you can't expect me to keep a diary on all the details of your claims or search back for every time you claimed to work in a profession?

Silly. Your issue is that when a position is taken by far right racists like Tommy and Farage and Trump, you find a way of explaining it. But you have no such benevolence for those on any other part of the political spectrum. It comes across as disengenous or stupid to me. And I don't think you are stupid

He's right though. You would have to be a bit dim or desperate to make out there is any contradiction there. In the first clip the question and answer was about detention NOT deportation. He said everyone including women and children would be detained although he said the picture with children was complicated. In the second clip he said reports that they'd deport women and children hadn't been discussed and were wrong, wrong, wrong. He is actually right. The first clip clearly shows the question and answer was about detention on arrival. Deportation was not discussed and so headlines that Farage had confirmed in reaponse to questionimg that he'd deport all women and children arriving by small boat were indeed wrong, wrong, wrong.

Ok tell me one occasion where I've lied about a job. If it is a characterisation built up over time you must have at least one memory of a job I've said I've done where you've thought "bulls**t, he hasn't done that job, he's lying out his a***"

The vast majority of people that post regularly on this thread are of a certain political persuasion.

I actually have DMs from people asking me why I continue to engage with the "left wing cult" or "numpties" on this thread. I do so as I believe it is important and interesting to engage with people that have different opinions as it challenges your own opinion and opinions are meaningless in the absence of challenge. But there certainly appears to be a view of this thread on the wider forum. And as I've said there is also a view of ordinary people of the "intellectual political class" and political debate within the country.

I have challenged the views of occasional posters that lets say are more opposite to your views. I have weighed in on debates in favour of recognising a Palestinian state and pushing for a two-state solution, just for example.

But as the views in this thread are dominated by a particular persuasion, yes, you will see more challenge from me towards that particular persuasion.

I didn't say he didn't say it. I said that he didn't row back on it and there wasn't any contradiction in the comments he made where he said the press reporting was wrong, wrong, wrong. I said the press had conflated his answer to a specific question by a journalist talking about women and children that had arrived by small boat and whether they would be detained and his policy relating to.tje detention and deportation of illegal immigrants that were already here, where only single males were discussed during the policy launch and press conference. I also said that even in relation to small boat crossings the full Farage and Yusuf announcement had opened up on the fact that while the aim would be to detain and deport everybody arriving by small boat there were challenges and complexities within that policy, particularly in relation to unaccompanied and undocumented children (who may not even know where they have come from or where they should be deported to).
