Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

And some people see pretty colours and think there is a higher meaning to it.

The bigger picture is voting for Brexit party on this occasion has nothing to do with the NHS or Fracking, but it makes a handy stick for Remainers to try and beat people up with.

I dont need to be patronised, but I do think you might need to take your head out of the clouds. Not everything is the great conspiracy.

The more interesting question is whether Nayim and those who voted Farage believe in a No Deal Brexit.

A year ago it wasn’t even on the table. Is a no deal exit what Brexit party voters want?

It's not a conspiracy it's right out in the open, Farage believes that the NHS should be privatised and wants to see fracking on a large scale in the UK.

Up to you if you vote for him knowing that.

The point is that Farage can believe whatever the hell he likes, he only preaches one message.

So to try and associate all the rest when he is literally a one note parrot is a fabrication on your part, not an actual point that I need to "own" if in X year the NHS goes down the toilet. The NHS has far greater issues than tertiary views from a man known for only one thing.

Had Farage written a manifesto including those points, on a platform where he could well implement them, Id agree with you - and would be voting for a party that is openly advocating such things.

It might even be fair, might, at that point to suggest voting for him/them would be normalising such views and potentially a dangerous thing.

Instead, currently, in my minds eye this is you:

"That guy said he would privatise the NHS - if you vote for him in a European election where he has no ability to enact such a thing, while he is standing as a protest against Brexit party, which is of course completely unrelated - IF in the future at some unspecified points we lose the NHS it will be ALL YOUR FAULT and you need to OWN that..."

I mean, seriously?

As Ive said, the NHS has far greater issues - coming from both Labour and Tory leadership, than some bit player having a view outside of what he campaigns for.

If you want to make a scale of it - Id say when the NHS falls it will be 99% because of mismanagement by the big two. And maybe 0.00000000001% because Farage mentioned it.

So you voted Farage? You comfortable with him wanting to destroy the NHS? Getting money from a person who has links to a hostile foreign government, backing fracking, cosying up to Bannon of the alt right, denying climate change... Doesn't seem to fit with your supposed world view.

I didn't vote Farage, in fact I did not vote, I am away for work and have moved so could not register postal and not sure there is even an online vote but on this point not that I would have voted Farage do you think his list of shame is any worse that Corbyn or May? For me they are equally strange and have some terrible traits which makes it a tough vote.

Didn't the Tories talk of selling off the NHS to US firm? Trudeau backs fracking, Corbyn cosies up to terrorists so the mud slinging can go both ways and stick to all sides, especially when you look at parties that have more firm manifestos like Labour and the Tories but are also tearing themselves apart.

You can't be serious!!

The fact that he hasn't released a manifesto means that you HAVE to look at his views points on things like the NHS.

There is talk already if he does well enough in these polls that their will be a partnership between the Brexit party and the Tories under a hard Brexiter. If he doesn't do well that talk is finished. So voting for him makes that much more likely... which risks the NHS and Fracking and climate change denial etc etc.

Brexit and hard Brexit doesn't have anything to do with the NHS are you having a laugh?

Hard brexit makes a deal with the US much more likely, to do a deal with the US we almost certainly have to (amongst other things) open up the NHS to American insurance and drug companies... That will be the beginning of the end for the NHS.

And guess what? That is what Farage and other hard Brexiters want. They have said it openly.

Having spent some time with the NHS over the last few days, it's a perfectly sensible plan.

As far as I can tell, it appears to be mostly staffed by massively overweight and inefficient women who spend more time eating than working and wouldn't last 5 minutes in the real workplace. I genuinely saw a middle-aged woman being shown how to use copy and paste by IT support staff.

Everyone seems to be well meaning but they also seem to be a couple of dozen IQ points below normal.

Is Farage worse than Corbyn.... Um yes, yes he is.

Worse than May? ... I don't really know what she stands for anymore... But yeah on the face of it, yeah he is.

If he is its fine lines, as I have said I am no Farage fan but when people list his bad points they are, in my opinion, on a par with the rest, such is the state of politics.

Maybe I think it too simplistic terms but lets say Farage is all you and people say he is, you may be 100% right in your views, however if he is as bad and you like many are confident when you say it and list the points, why is it the so called "better" never manage to beat him into the ground and defeat him and his views with relative ease?

To be honest it is hard to see the 'better' in the current crop of British politicians. You're looking at the effects of years of political inbreeding.

Farage is a racist bigot who seeks to exploit voter fears to put himself in a position of power.

Kinda like Corbyn which is my point, its a sh1te state. The fact that Corbyn can't take advantage of the current storm and put his party forward speaks volumes for me. If he had anything about him he should be cleaning up

I don't think much of Corbyn either but there are different levels of bad, a point well made by Yuval Noah Harari in the linked article above. Farage is a different level of bad.

Can one of the remoaners who is so in love with the evil EU explain to me why it is ok for European countries to have a insurance based health service but not ok for us.

The NHS is like a weird cult for some in this country. I have a serious illness that was first seen by a GP but then we went private. Not sure what the issue is with private health care.

Relatives in Australia can not afford for a hip replacement so are waiting for their form of state help but they have an insurance based system. If it came in here people would still be treated.

As for Farage the is a movement in general left leaning society to try and turn him into the devil. He is far from that, he believes in independence, he has always said this country has a duty to accept asylum seekers as they differ from general immigration. And that general immigration should be on a visa points based system like so many other countries in the world.

The far left like to try and turn someone into a monster, you see it every time a republican becomes president. Your so it with Maggie who with the passing of time you can see her mistakes but she was still streets ahead of Kinnock at the time and the country agreed.

I as long as he still wants some separation from Europe voting Corbyn. I want fresh ideas and a more society orientated country and think he offers that.

As for fracking I am mixed on it. Would probably allow 10 year licences while we get true green technology up to speed, wave turbine technology and the like.

Farage believes in one thing only and that is how many zeros he can accumulate on the right hand side of his bank balance. I have heard him brazenly say this on more than one occasion.

It’s saddening that the people who support him most are the ones he holds the most disdain towards.

You are not daft enough to believe that most of the M/Ps in power do not do the same?????
