It was frequently reported we had an option to extend his contract for another year.
Obviously we have on intention of paying him another 3m wages for a year.

We have done so with several others, Gomes and Jenas for example.

When Bentley signed his contract the statement from Spurs was that it was "for upto 6 years" so I'm guessing we didn't take a further option after this year.

Updated contracts page. Seems Nathan Byrne is being offered a new contract, Jonathan Miles has had his extended and Ryan Mason has been retained along with Simon Dawkins.

Makes you wonder whether we think we can get first team football out mason and dawkins or if we are trying to get them loans to put in shop window so we can sell and recoup some of the money spent on their development.

Ryan Mason needs a successful loan and an injury free season, he has bags of talent and along with Pritchard and Ceballos could make it with the club.

Dawkins got games for Villa last season, if he was at most 22 I'd say he'd be in with a shot but at 25 it's unlikely.

Updated player contracts.

Holtby confirms 2018 not 2017.

Mason confirms 2016.

Paulinho rumoured until 2017.

Capoue rumoured until 2017.

Chadli's agent says until 2018.

Soldado rumoured until 2017.

As always if anyone can help with the unofficial sources (like by stalking the players on twitter) I would be most grateful.

Holtby was said to be four year contract with one year option,
so not surprised to see both 2017 and 2018 mentioned.
These options make it difficult to track the contract lenghts
