Pedro Porro

I think people need to pay off Porro. Just another scape goat. His attacking is that good that it undermines his defensive work. He does need to work on it no doubt but to sprays look to blame him is ridiculous
I wasn't saying it as a dig. I think he has been overworked and has played so many games. I genuinely think he needs a rest, before knowing our luck we will be forced to

There's no real reason why Spence isn't getting some of those games. His attacking game is done differently but it can still be effective. I don't believe Porro is so effective that Spence shouldn't be getting games. Spence is the far better defender as well which should be taken into account.
With Spence on the right it can give Udogie a lot more license to get forward. With Porro and Udogie playing they both are looking to get forward and that leaves us more exposed at the back like under Ange.

Porro is just a poor defender. When his attack game is off he is a liability.
Mbuemo's header for Man Us first goal was Porro's fault. Instead of taking two steps backwards to challenge, he took the slower option of turning 180 degrees, watch the ball go past first.

Porro has never been much of a defender and he was at fault for the first goal, getting caught in no man's land again. Now her doesn't contribute much going forward either. Spense on the right please!

He is likeable but his lack of awareness of whats around him is a real worry

He was one of the few players to come through the last couple of seasons unscathed iirc so is probably in need of a rest. Spence has been covering Udogie while injured so now that he's back perhaps we can start giving Porro some time off.
Last couple of seasons, this season. Other players pick up injuries, he barely does. Other players get a rest once in a while, he only gets one very rarely.

Like you I hope Udogie being back now gives us the chance to rotate him a bit. Think he's been running on fumes lately. He still runs a lot, but think it's impacting him in more ways than one.

We’re indeed fortunate that Porro is such an exemplary athlete and been able to play almost 24 hours more football than any other outfield player since the start of last season!

Porro 5,627 minutes played
Vicario 4,500
Bentancur 4,202
Johnson 4,092
Sarr 3,934
Van de Ven 3,108
Romero 3,103
Kulusevski 3,450
Spence 3,614
Gray 3,492
Solanke 3,442

Udogie 3,281
Son 3,189
Bergvall 3,078

Nobody else is the squad has managed over 3,000 minutes for us in that time.

It was not one of his best games for sure, however he is our best RB and also adds to our attacking threat.
Best offensive RB, rather questionable if that is also the case in a defensive aspect. For me a Porro/Spence dynamic is one of the few places that squad had real depth, quality and variety.
