PDC World Darts Championship 2013/14

Took Taylor a good 10 mins after the final to snap out the mood and I can understand that, no one likes losing. But stone me he tried every dirty trick in the book to throw Anderson off course and ultimately failed.

If I was Anderson and won I would have been tickling his chin the bloody lot....

Well he was giving it fake punches, bit of chest to chest, won a set and went up to Anderson and tickled his chin etc etc

I'm an active member of a darts forum (Play to quite a good standard 18-24 dart finishes) and hope to start playing again next month.

Taylor is the worst loser. Note how when he wins the board is off the wall and signed in seconds yet if he loses he's off the stage without doing it. One in a million and best ever but he annoys a lot of us dart fans with his antics.

not sure it would be right to do that board thing when someone else wins, that's for them to do surely

I used to play seriously before the kids came along, at least 5 nights a week, 2/3 matches and a couple of practice nights, I was ok but I'm healthier since I stopped as 4 pints every night isn't good, play the odd game now when one of my old teams is short, I do miss it, wonderful sport

which forum you on Roy?

Thedartsforum.co.uk.

I played as a teenager then started working with a guy about a year ago who played in a team. Bought my own set and started playing again and very quickly found I was more than holding my own within literally 2/3 months I was beating the pub captain.

Remember one leg I hit 123, 140 and 110 or something to leave 113 after 9. I was the newbie and everyone knew I'd only been playing for about 4 months by now. Anyway, stepped up single 20, treble 19 and without hesitating threw the 3rd and WIRED the double 18 for a 12 darter. Everyone applauded and I eventually put in my best ever going out on my 3rd throw next up for 15 darts which is 100 average for the leg. 12 months on and I've had a 16, 17 and average 24 (8 visits) which I'm delighted with as I only get to practice 3/4 hours a week (None since the op obviously)

Pulled out of the team I'd signed for once I was diagnosed but plan to start throwing again in the next 4-6 weeks with a view to signing next season.

My team mates noticed I would get 100 more often than not in a leg and we got shirts made up lol and on the back of mine it says 'Roy's-ton'. Despite hating being called Royston as its not my name I quite like the nickname :)

nice, could be worse, I've played with guys with some ridiculous nicknames before

thedarts forum rings a bell, think I used to be registered on there

good luck going forward, it's a brilliant sport to play competitively, i've made so many good friends from it

I'm feeling inspired this week, gonna stick my head in for a match in borough on Wednesday night I think

Good luck too.

I like it when you see the guys who are old enough to know better yet take it so seriously lol. Swearing, arguing, banging pint glasses down :ross: gets me every time.

I know youngsters like that, I like to see it, if they are doing that they are not concentrating on the board, they'll beat themselves

I used to play once upon a time but like Bristow I got the yips in my mid 20s. I can still hold my own but I am likely to go T20, T20, 15 as I get a yip on the third dart, it does not matter what pace I throw at either. I enjoy it though still, don't play seriously now but I can take my mates down a peg or two haha

horrible isn't it, I've been through a couple of stages like that, i'm not sure its ever the same afterwards either, maybe thats just psychosomatic though

Ohhh I think its all in the brain to be honest, I have grouped the first two darts lovely, stepped away and tried to throw the third as if it was the first and the same, all in the mind unfortunately.

You guys work in London?

I flit between Tottenham and Cheshunt and work in London. I'd be up for a meet, greet, beers and some arrers.

I didn't realise that Richie Burnett got removed from the WC this year due to suspected drug issues??
