A manager would have less money to play with at Everton and there has been an issue with interference from above at Liverpool in the recent past.

Well all I know is there's no way I can see a scenario such as this at WHL , not with Levy in charge and certainly not with a manager that has just been appointed ....

Andy Carroll is not part of my plans - please off load him, get what you can...

John Henry says but I can only get £17 million for him from West Ham , that's an 18 million pound hit .

Brenden Rodgers says - take the hit and then go get me Sturidge from Chelsea ...

Something like the above just wont happen with Levy.

I think its there's to lose from now ...

From 7th and 28 points behind the champions of last season, they're showing us all the way.

I've long thought that if you can hit 65-70 points, then you're capable of hitting 85 plus the following season. If you do things right, sign a good player or two and hold on to your best players in the pre season, it's possible .

I'm sorry that is just nonsense mate. Both Martinez and Rodgers looked quite clearly from the off like they were building sides. Which of the managers in Levy's reign looked like that? AVB? well he was given a chance by Levy after failing to get 4th last season. But frankly he never looked any where like those other two in terms of achieving a successful, coherent system of play. This constant attack on Levy is just foolish from many fans.

Thankfully, we've never made a signing as bad as Carroll but Levy has been willing to move on (or at least attempt to move on) players who have failed here.

Levy inexplicably went for the only one who had no history of successfully building a side in the English League. IMO this was a much bigger gamble than going for the other 2. AVB's fans will point to what he won in Portugal and Europa League? So what, Ramos won 2 Europa Leagues and took sevilla into the champs League but is still regarded as a chump by most posters. Neither had any pedigree in this Country and that's important, which is why LVG worries me unless we are very lucky.

Rodgers was already at Pool when we appointed AVB though right?

I disagree with all the people saying Martinez wouldn't have coped at WHL, because he has taken an Everton team and turned them into a really difficult to beat outfit. Hindsight is a wonderful thing though. Based on his Wigan team most people would've expected a decent attacking team but weak at the back.

I don't think neither Rodgers or Martinez think it nonsense. In fact, I'm pretty certain, Rodgers said as much that the working environment at Spurs was not to his liking .

You seem certain that Levy knows a succesfull coherant system? Then why does he go from one manager after another deviating from one football philosophy to another, with no semblance of long term vision like for example Swansea?

Martinez has done well from the off , granted but he went to a club that had a chairman that had worked with the previous manager for how long , ten years?

Rodgers, he finished 7th last season and for Levy that may well have not been good enough .

Not wishing to make this an AVB debate but if you think that when a chairman backs a player who has a history of being a bit of a areshole, over a manager , that's backing the manager then fair enough .

Also - Levy and Lewis are both investors. Lewis has been at WHL just the once in ten years . Levy doesn't even get off his **** to celebrate a Spurs goal and in the time he's been chairman, his happiest moment of him sitting in the stands, were when Jol's sacking was 'leaked' during the game.

Rodgers can say anything he likes now he is firmly ensconced in the Liverpool Job. He is a smarmy cnut but seriously do you think if Levy had come in for him when he was managing Swansea he would have said no? In a way I'm glad we didn't get him. It's Martinez I am more bummed at missing out on.

As for Levy moving from one system to another that's only because each time he has been let down by the managers he has employed. Seriously which one should he have kept ? I'm struggling perhaps Harry if only he hadn't hitched up his skirt for England. Despite that we are still better off now than when Levy took over in 2001. I trust Levy to recognise a coherent system if he ever appoints a good enough manager it's just his record at appointing the right man is so poor.

Oh come on you cannot be serious. Levy backed AVB until it became clear that his personal spat with our best striker, when we lacked other options, was clearly detrimental to our results. If we had continued with the Ade freeze out and Soldado up front on his own we would have truly seen a car crash of a season. Honestly mate I feel like banging my head against a wall when people accuse Levy of having treated AVB badly.

Your last paragraph does you know favours and I know from your other posts you are a decent poster so I won't take it too seriously. Levy was still working for Spurs despite a personal bereavement (the loss of his mother?) and a sick wife. Surely no one can question his commitment to our club.

They were already difficult to beat. They have lost 5 games so far this season, same as last season at this stage. The improvement has come from turning 13 draws into 4 wins and 9 draws.

Watching Napoli and they show you a goal at Monaco, seriously there is about 10 people there, I know they get paid loads but WTF I thought footballers buzzed off the crowd and atmosphere but clearly not in this case, its pathetic

It is really stupid of Norwich to sack Hughton with only 5 matches remaining. With 4 of those matches against Liverpool, ManU, Chelsea and Arsenal, don't know what they are trying to prove by sacking their manager now.
