Other Premier League Matches Thread

Yeesss! Turned it off with 5 minutes to go in the hope of an equaliser.

It's not false hope, its DESTINY !!!!

Edit: WTF, Swansea clean through 1-on-1 and ref blows the whistle !!!!

Why the hell did the ref blow for full time there?! ****ing hell. He first gives **** extra few seconds to score from the throw in, then he proceeds to call the game off when Swansea is through on goal! ****ing ridiculous.

Gives goons a throw that wasnt to try and will in the winner, then blows up for FT when Swansea have a great chance to score. Some refs are deffo bent, what a c**t.

How massive could that point be for Swansea?

So annoying that they have managed to score 2 at the Emirates tonight, and we couldnt muster a single goal against them in 4 1/2hours football.

The dropped points doesnt really help us much, but gives Everton a real chance

Yeah total **** take! 10 more seconds and they prob would have scored (or at least had a clear shot).

the only way that makes sense is if he added on half a minute due to the equalising goal. and then he felt he was blowing for fulltime when time was literally up. otherwsie, very weird.

if someone knows the exact rules;
is the ref supposed to blow up literally when time is up? or until there is a break in play/or nothing significant is taking place?

I think it is really all up to the ref, there's no rule that says he has to see an attack through, although they usually do that (for obvious reasons). The Championship in Sweden was decided on a decision like this a few years back, Helsingborg actually scored from a cross to make them 3-2 winners (which would make them the champions), but the ref had blown the whistle a split second before the cross hit the attacker's head. Ridiculous.

On the plus side, **** drawing gives us the same benefit as if they lost, as we would still need them to lose 2 and draw 1 (while we win) either way.

Ref blows up when time is up. In 1978 at the world cup Clive Thomas blew up as a corner was coming in to the area BEFORE a goal was scored by Brazil which would have won the game.

4th official or someone should be on a timer/buzzer just like in basketball/american football.

makes perfect sense to me. and would get rid of a lot of bad feeling that fans of smaller teams feel (rightly or wrongly). its not right that so many people feel agreived by stuff such as "fergie time".

Another record broken by Moyes tonight.

First time Man Utd have conceded 2+ goals at home in three consecutive home games since 1979

not to be quoted but ive read the extra or injury time is the minumum they must give. its therefore up to them after that, therefore shocking decision - but hey history suggests they get a lot of these 'calls'
