OT: What next for Harry?

QPR have a massively bloated squad. Need to ship out a few in January, Taarabt will probably be one of the first, to make room for the likes of Joe Cole, David Beckham and a couple of our guys. I think the transfer window just got a lot more interesting, SKY should just set up camp outside their training ground.

I think that he'll hold onto Taarabt. I read a very interesting interview with him in the Standard last year where he was very complimentary about Redknapp.

The first problem they need to solve is where are the goals coming from. I Zamora is playing up front on his own they need midfielder who can get forward, support him and score goals. It'll be interesting.

All of the anti Harry mob will come out of the woodwork and declare that QPR have a fantastic squad and a finish no lower than 7th is poor. And I'm guessing an irrational hatred for QPR will now take over the board.

Nope.

It is, once again,m a no-lose situation for Harry. He has players there who will react quickly to his methods, he has some very talented players there, and I think he will get them in a comfortable mid-table position. Let's be honest Jurgen, he has Cesar, Granero, SWP, Hoilett and Taraabt. He will also recall Joey Barton IMO. He has the media in his back-pocket.

Good luck to him.

Zamora is out for 3 months with a hip injury and Andy Johnson is out for the season. They have DJ Campbell out on loan though. He might just go for Keane on loan, even if they didn't have the best of times together at Spurs.

I missed Zamora getting injured. Jesus, January can't come quick enough for them.

i think he'll be knocking on our door for super Scotty Parker

I don't think that we can afford to let Defoe go in January.

As long as we get someone in I think we can. Could be our last chance to get some real cash for Defoe, especially as QPR are likely to pay over the odds.

not sure about Defoe to Q.P.R - think their famed relationship would have taken a bit of a knock after last season

Harry aside - they do have some good players and should be comfortably between 15th and 12th place, imv

Q.P.R fans on a mixed forum i frequent seem to be under the impression there isn't much money available for transfers, hence their concern at the appointment

their wage bill is 180% of turnover

I think he will be his first signing in Jan. Joe Cole could be a goer and a few weeks of Robbie Keane could be on too

He does have a reputation for buying oldies he has worked with before, but when you actually look at Redknapp's purchases statistically that simply isn't true. I doubt he'll buy much in January, but I think it will be proven quality. In the Summer he'll buy more of a mix. But most of all he'll be right. He'll identify the gaps in the first XI and purchase the required type of player for that gap. He'll do well for QPR unfortunately.

I certainly think he will. His appointment now should save their season. Villa may the ones in trouble, have a feeling Lerner will stick with Lambert until its loo late.

Back to HR. think he might do something similar to his first Jan window here. Think Scott Parker will be his Palacios signing.

I think you're right that they wont spend too much until summer, which is why I think Keane on a few weeks free would be right up his street. Joe Cole would depend if Liverpool might let him go on a 5-month loan. Wonder if Joe and Kevin will link up with him

OK, so I was wrong....8-[

Overall, my attitude is a bit 'meh'..good luck to QPR as their fans deserve to have some good football to watch (they'll have a bounce but I'd be surprised if they get higher than 12th at best...they could still get relegated...) but my main reaction is that he wont be able to talk crap about us on MOTD anymore; his comments about Arsenal and us recently were cringeworthy..thank GHod they'll be a lot less of that now..
