Jose needs to learn that against crap sides you play your more technical players, you cant play Sissoko in a midfield with another defensive midfielder because we just give up too much possession. Its counter productive
Sissoko/Hojbjerg/Doherty - the axis of backpass.

Hojbjerg has had good games on the ball, but he seems to get infected with a case of the Sissokos when he's next to him.

We’ve been very good defensively in the league since West Ham. Not given up many chances. I know the opposition haven’t been great but neither are West Ham.

Dier and Toby have been brilliant. Tobys lack of pace worries me against the top sides but Dier is looking really, really good and with the right partner, he could form a very effective partnership.

Tbh the one goal we have conceded in the last 3 games should not have stood either

I hope the papers don't start asking if were are title challengers again. I would rather keep ticking along not being talked about

Surely they must, we are miles ahead of everyone else this season, we are so good I think we might be the only team that finishes in the top 4, thats never happened before, there has always been three other teams in there.

It's a shame the PL doesn't have a 107% rule, we could get every other club relegated.

It was always going to be difficult, and similar to the Burnley game. But we won both and beat Brighton at home. Can't really complain then. These teams always make it extremely difficult. Their goal is to get a draw and keep a clean sheet.
I think it shows character and strength that we have won all these 3 games.
1-0 to the Tottenham

Yay us.

Nuffink left to do but sit back and count vot- err, um, goals.

With draws in Man Chester and Lie Cester and an away win for us'n's in Black Coontry, like, it will be two week's worth of merry warbling:

"Top of the league, top of the league, Tottenham, Tottenham, top of the league."

I keep life simple.

I'm Greatwhitenorf and I approve of this message.

Well, hoping for a couple of weeks of singing provocatively. Still, for a couple of hours I was belting this out.

We should know whether we are contenders after the next six weeks.
In our first five PL games this season we conceded five late goals that cost us a total of five valuable points. Since then we've held out against Burnley and Brighton and now clinched the win against West Brom, gaining us five points we might otherwise have dropped.

It's probably safe to assume that Jose and his coaches have been working extremely hard with the squad to get our weakness at the death sorted and it seems to be paying dividends.

So! Dare we hope that getting that one big weakness sorted will be enough to make all the difference when it comes to the crunch at the end of the season?

Most of those goals came from set pieces, we've been pretty solid in open play all season (or at least the first team have).

Spot on. We've been up and down in terms of performances. Probably overall getting about the point total we've deserved so far.

In the mix (all that really matters at this point), but we've had a fairly comfortable fixture list so far. Next 6 as you say will be more telling. Will need that ability to grind out results, and also keep being solid at the back against much better teams. But the positive is that we'll probably get more space and counter attacking opportunities if we can keep defending well.

Interesting times.
