OMT. Tottenham vs Philips Sport Vereniging Eindhoven.

If its really all about winning a fudging trophy, unless I'm fudging departed, we just fudge off out of the CL, play the kids, and give it all in the league Cup and the fa Cup. If it really is all about winning a goddamn trophy. Cus we sure as brick aren't going to win the league or the champions league or the euro league any time soon. Simple math, really. No one gives a fudge about euro league (we've certainly never cared for it), too many matches needed to win. League and CL way too difficult at this point. League Cup an fa cup there for the taking, only a few wins needed.
I'm with you on this one

If Barca do the double over Inter and we beat them too (plus beat PSV in the return leg), the last game could get intersting. Of course there's that small obstacle of us probably having to get a result at Camp Nou, but still...

Especially if Barca have already won the group by that point?

Is it just me, or is following us this season starting to feel like agreeing to watch The Apprentice to placate your other half? Something somehow seems to work out, sort of, but you're never really convinced of any of it. And it's mostly painful.

We have been the better team against psv and inter, but personally I would knock Europe on the head for this season and focus on the league to get as high as possible.

We are not quite firing yet and personally tonight was another night where Kane was running and not exactly slowly but to me he did not look as sharp as his old self. Also though I wanted us to sign him Llorente has not worked out and is a waste of a squad place, I feel that by him not being good enough we have in a way limited our squad size and we could do with a different option from the bench at times.

In all I am not to unhappy, we have been good in parts in Champs league, dare say we have looked better then we have in the prem to be honest. By the time we start getting our act together it will be just to focus on the F.A. cup and the league.

I would hardly say that Napoli & PSG make up an easy group really

Harder then ours if you ask me.

We had an ok group. We are a better side then PSV or Inter. Just had to many players come back from the world cup with a mental fatigue and we have not put average teams away as we should.

If this was last season we would have come second in this group easily and frankly I think Barca are there for the taking defensively.

Still may be
Their not tearing Inter a new one and are certainly missing Messi

Were they were poorly placed or were they just in ‘attack’ mode in positions to receive the ball and not expecting Eriksen to give it away so cheaply and centrally?

From the point that Eriksen gave it away and PSV played Lozano in, it looked to me as though Toby was going to get back and push the striker out wide. I think the only way Lozano was going to score was with a first time effort with his left foot (a 1 in 10 at best type chance if Hugo stays in his goal) or by somehow cutting inside behind Toby and getting a shot away with with his right foot before Sanchez got there (probably a 1 in 20 outcome).

Lozano was nowhere near clear enough through for Hugo to have to risk that, it was terrible decision making.

Agreed, they were in different positions due to possession, but let's be fair, at that stage in the game you need at least one to play smartly. Toby did look like he might've got there, but therein lies the issue (and has done several times this season). He is slower than he was. Not quite as tight on the turn, not quite as fast as he used to be. He is not the same player as two seasons ago. The first goal is obvious, no need to break that down, a gaffe and those do happen (even though they shouldn't!!!!). But Lloris clearly did not trust him or Sanchez to take care of the situation.

I have to say, I'd love to know how the ref can send Hugo off there in hindsight.

My first reaction was red so I cant blame the ref on that one.

Toby is slowing at quite a quick pace, wonder if other clubs are watching this, might be best he could hope for is an offer from a European team in a slower league.

Maybe I’m being an idiot but I can see us winning comfortably vs inter and PSV
Barca will have won the group once they win their next game and they have rested players before in the CL so who knows

That would only be enough for europa by then though and also likely effect our prem results.

Said that at the time

Was it for dangerous play as he wasn’t last man in effect

And we saw how Toby caught their player for their goal in the first half

But the ref was shockingly bad again it has to be said
