I'm at least happy to say that I expected Vertonghen to be skinned all evening by James, but he actually handled him well.

Jose changed our shape back to a 4231 for most of the first 60 minutes and only switched to the lopsided 343 after Eriksen came on. I'm depressed with how poorly we played, too many players had bad nights and not enough turned up to outshine them. One thing is for sure though, Sissoko and Winks are not the answer in there. Jose gave them a go and saw the results. Let's hope he doesn't persist with them for a year like Poch did.

It's been a few years since we were dominated like that by Man Utd. I can't recall it happening in recent seasons at least. It was like going 20 years back in time. And this is probably the worst team they've in 30 years. That says everything about how poor we were.

I think some fans have been lulled into thinking all we needed was a change of manager. The issues with the defensive midfield and to a certain extent with the full backs have not gone away. Jose is a fabulous manager but he’s not a miracle worker. We need to expect results like today until he can sort out the midfield issues at least.

Not really fair. I think his failures were mostly punts. Wanyama for one season, Alli, Sanchez, Moura, Davies (arguably) have been good. I also believe, given time the three bought last summer will also be good.

Well if the players we have are lacking, then Poch has to take some responsibility. Sanchez for £40m can't be called a success yet.

Did we spend 100m in the summer?

You cannot build anything from the back with Sissoko and Sanchez. They are putting so much pressure on the rest of the team with their passing, hardly a single one is well weighted nor to feet atm.

Gave them far too much time on the ball. Even when they gave up possession we gave it straight back to them. Too many had off games, poor first goal and a dodgy pen aside we were well beaten. And they aren't really that good. Frustrating and annoying.

I think Sanchez is a very good defender but he needs players comfortable on the ball around him to enable him to release the ball quickly.

Has nothing to do with Pochettino and everything to do with the players/players available.

We have an FB crisis. Have had since June. Unless we play Dier, Aurier pays the price for being Aurier every single time.

I hope tonight shows everyone how important Dier is. Concessions when he has played have come when he got tired (still finding match fitness IMO)...

Yip as poor as dier has been at times he has to play and by playing him will hopefully get him back to his best. Alli an example of this

Gazzaniga made one mistake (a poor one) and proceeded to save us on several occasions. Aurier is still a total liability.

The error cost us a goal early on and put us on the back foot.

None of his saves that preceded were any great shakes.
