OMT. Tottenham v Watford.

I am more worried about us playing our 35th game of the season live on Sky on a Monday night, late April, against a team beginning with 'W'.

I have a bad feeling this is going to end 1-1 like it did v WBA more or less 2 years ago to the day.

Prove me wrong SPurs

A win tonight would be massive then if we can sneak something at WBA next Saturday to put us in the box seat before Chelsea play Liverpool as one if not both of them will drop points next weekend

COYS smash'em 5-0. (Kane 5)

We really need to bounce back tonight or else I worry the unthinkable could happen and we finish outside the top 4.

I'd like us to finish 3rd because to finish top 3 for 3 seasons on the bounce would be a very good achievement for us. I bet we haven't done that for decades, if ever. I'm guessing the 1960s at some point.

Indeed not. Not since the run we had between seasons 1959-60 and 1962-63 (3rd, 1st, 3rd, 2nd).

I flip between 400% sure we'll be fine to 99% sure depending on my mood. Those percentages might change tonight ;)
Would be ironic if we finished 3rd and the Chavs snatched 4th but then had to sweat it out after the PL had finished to see whether the Goons and Dippers knocked them out of next season’s CL!!

Yup, the last Spurs manager who even got us consecutive Top 4 finishes was Burkinshaw back in 82 & 83.

Arthur Rowe got us back-to-back Top 3 finishes in 51 & 52 as did Anderson in 57 & 58 but (as Mudshark says) Nicholson is the only one who has ever got Spurs in Top 3 more than twice...

There is a big difference between 4th and 3rd. UEFA allocate a market pool fund to English teams, and that is split 40/30/20/10 between the top 4. As the market pool is in the region of £150M for England, the 4th placed finisher gets £15M whilst 3rd gets £30M... just for turning up... so it does have a material impact on THFC finances from Champions League payments on top of the £2M difference in Premier league prize money.

So 3rd is worth £17m more than 4th before any other factors like TV appearances or reputation are factored in.

No more fudging excuses. If a player not giving it tonight. Get him off. Even if that's on 30 mins. I'm not saying it would suit some players to not have champions league next year, but it would.
