Their goal was interesting. A punt upfield to their striker, marked by Sanchez and Dier. Sanchez pushes him over (at a perfect freekick location) and shanks the bouncing ball wildly off for a corner. Not good defending! Then from the corner Dier is marking nothing and Sanchez has 2 men, so the scorer just nuts it in. Note also Ndombele shrieking and flinching away from the ball!

For our first, note it was one full back crossing for the other to head in (which was saved on the line by handball) so Doherty and Davies "essentially" got a goal and assist (although Kane takes the glory with a lovely penalty).

The second goal was nice, really pinged it into feet, first touch, very nice.

Dier again suspect from a set piece, same as the last two matches :/
 
This almost became one of our most embarassing defeat in Europe. Fortunately for us, the referee came to our rescue by giving 2 red cards to Plovdiv. We played so poorly that don't think we would have rescued the match if not for the red cards. Despite the lucky win, at least we managed to progress to the next qualifying round of the Europa League. But we need to improve our performance if we want go further in Europe this season.
