What odds on someone key being played and then getting injured?

Quite high I'd say.

Villa are a dirty side. They are also going for top 4 and probably see us a guaranteed 3 points. Plus they have the extra 'grievance' of the game being moved to Friday night against their wishes.

Wouldn't surprise me if there is a payment due if Werner plays a certain number of games and club thought it's just not worth playing him at all

What a stupid question. Should have told them that if people didn't want the intergrity of the game questioned that the powers that be should ensure cup matches are factored in better to the league schedule.

It does call in to question the adage that 'you play everyone twice so it's all even' as anyone competing with Villa can feel aggrieved that they have lucked out with the fixtures here.

Villa are certainly getting an easy route to the CL next season by playing us and ManU in their last two matches, either side of a final between the two.

Chelsea beat Man U (given?) and Forest.
Villa beat us and United (Villa should be up for it as they need to win to get CL).
City get 4 points fromBournemouth & Fulham.

Then..

They’d have to beat Southampton away to avoid finishing 6th.

If that happens then the pressure + being Southamptons last PL game. It would certainly be a great game to watch!

Hopefully the first half of this happens so they at least start the match knowing they could finish 6th.

That would be bleeping hilarious; if the first bit was to happen AND we won on Wednesday, could you imagine the popcorn bulk ordering for that final day??

Sadly, as it is i think they beat Saudi Sportswashing Machine comfortably whilst Chelsea will struggle to a point vs Man Utd.

Can you imagine if we actually won tonight from a last-minute own goal from Matty Cash???
