Perfunctory endeavour, however just like the club have to show up, so must this OMT.
If anyone -and I mean anyone- on this forum says this match means anything to them beyond a) getting it done without injuries and b) putting minutes into legs where necessary, then they are either a liar or a numpty.

I just hope we don’t get torn to pieces - one goal loss or better will do. Let’s do that tactic vs Frankfurt and Bodø away, please, Ange.
 
By the way, by request I have thrown it all out of the window, gone against the rules and posted the Europa League Final match-thread. It was requested, it was suggested, and I agree...let's banish the rules of the past. Goldblums and badgers, even Toms have been respectfully thanked for their service...
 
I think the team selection is key for this one. There will be guys that need minutes to be at their optimum in Bilbao. There be guys that need a rest.

I'm guessing Ange works backwards from his Weds team selection and then makes his choices.

I get the point about players needing minutes I really do and thats fair enough and Ange will probably play a lot of the 'first team' for this one.

But we couldn't have a worse opponent at this time, they are chasing CL football and combined with the fact they have a couple of snide, dirty players I can't help but wish we wrap our preferred first team up in cotton wool and keep them well away for this one....

And why not.....playing by the rules has got us fudge all up to this point!

Yeah, I think we need to be careful not to blame Ange on whatever choices he makes. He can't win. Leaving VDV and Romero 2 weeks without kicking a competitive ball may not be optimum. We know that Porro and Bents started the last one. Surely they'll be rested. I'm expecting something like the following:

Kinsky
Spence, Dansio, Davies, Udogie
Gray, Biss, Sarr
Odobert, Richi, Tel

You are right in that they do have that nasty side about them. I'd love to put a massive dent in their season though.

I think Romero and VDV will play 45 minutes at least. And with Romero likely to not be with us next season, perhaps him smashing right through Cash and getting a red card to take him out of the game might be a good idea :D....
 
Villa are certainly getting an easy route to the CL next season by playing us and ManU in their last two matches, either side of a final between the two.
