But in those moments.....you never felt so alive!
They are the moments we live for. So glad Glenda was there to feel it...and my mate Jonny...and everyone who went...
But in those moments.....you never felt so alive!
Indeed. Think of those at Old Trafford last night. So true! I really don’t believe there is any sport in the world that has the same emotional allegiance that comes with football, at whatever level. (Apologies I am a bit tipsy and not sure what I am typing makes sense),..

The referee didn't give a penalty at this game. It was because of VAR we got it. You liked it then didn't you?Low scoring sport
Needs the magic of the moments and things like VAR are killing it
The referee bottled the decision because he knows he has a fall back with VARThe referee didn't give a penalty at this game. It was because of VAR we got it. You liked it then didn't you?
The referee gets a lower mark at the end from the UEFA observer if VAR changes his initial decision. He does get penalty if he gets it wrong. So no, he wouldn't have given it without VAR.The referee bottled the decision because he knows he has a fall back with VAR
Surely you have seen that as a recurring problem

I think you've missed the point he was making but I also think what you say makes sense. Refs can play it safe knowing var will pickup any errorsYep
The referee bottled the easy call likely because he has var to make the big calls for him
But VAR did change his decision?
Refs are getting worse because they are hiding behind their friends with the screenI think you've missed the point he was making but I also think what you say makes sense. Refs can play it safe knowing var will pickup any errors
That’s logicalNo, it advised him to use the replay booth.
He changed the decision after seeing the replay.
Referee’s should be allowed to use the replay booth whenever they want imo.
That’s logical
But they are very unlikely to do so if they believe they have made the right call
We need better refs not more technology
Refs are getting worse because they are hiding behind their friends with the screen
A competent ref would see what was clear last night and award a penalty
Var have united a pen last night and no one watching it could see what for …
He missed the point I was making that in a very low scoring sport having additional delays and no opportunity to celebrate fully because of technology is becoming quite toxic
It may be a spectacle on TV about as a match going fan it’s awful
Some smart countries have caught on to this and are binning var even if if it means they can’t play in Europe because they can see the impact on the fans
I dont think it isThe friends with the screen should be the ref, the person on the pitch should be the medium, not the method.
It’s too important to leave to one pair of eyes.
I dont think it is
At least not for those who go
We accept that they make mistakes
The issue is now they make more because they rely on the extra eyes
No a potentially better idea is additional officials on the pitch
One ref in each half maybe
And more linos
I meant he got it wrong in the first place and Var gave him the opportunity to change it. I was responding to someone that said the referee assessor would mark a ref down for getting something wrong. No, it advised him to use the replay booth.

But you have to net that abuse off against the abuse VAR is getting....so what's the scores on the doors Baley?Statistically they are making far fewer mistake since the introduction of VAR.
I don’t believe those that go do accept officiating mistakes, hence the continued abuse.
That’s their own stats and judged against their own opinionsStatistically they are making far fewer mistake since the introduction of VAR.
