OMT - Tottenham Hotspur - Woolwich tossers

Ok, sure, Arsenal took their foot off the pedal a bit, but still, the second half showed on a few short occations that any decent edition of ourselves should be able to carve them open with ease. The problem was, we had already lost the game by then.

We have got to stop playing the 4-3-3 in the premier league untill we have it properly done by the numbers. And even then, never, ever, for as long as the stars shine, the sun rises and sets, and the farts lift the douvet at night, should the words "Højbjerg, Ndombele and Alli" be mentioned as our midfield trio against a decent premier league side. I don't know what the intention were, should a) Tanganga and/or Reguillon play inverted, and step up alongside PEH, while Ndombele and Alli pushed wide/high? Or b) should Alli stay central alongside, while Ndombele pushed ahead, with Tanganga and Reguillon outside? Or c) should all three stay central and compact to counter Ødegaard, Smith-Rowe and Sahka? After that display I haven't got a fudging clue what the plan was, and I sincerly doubt that anyone who was on the pitch first half knew either, and that, to be fair, is a far, far more disencouraging signal than 3 goals conceeded. What's worse, I'm not sure Nuno knew either! Because if he did, and saw that it did not work, why didn't he do anything about it? If the plan was A, at least one fullback should have been replaced halfway through the half. If it was B, Alli or Ndombele should have been yanked off. And if it was c, both!

Regardless of the media tossing, this is not a good Arsenal-side. It is a talented side, and it has very much potential. But at the stage they are now, they should have been quite within our reach. Instead, we ran around like chickens. Not headless chickens, just bloody stupid chickens.

When even Tony Adams says it's a penalty you know it was stonewall.
Incredibly brick how VAR has turned into a tool they only use when they want.

The Leceister / Villa goals not given / given was also another 'mare.
Cannot for the life of me understand why the ref wasn't asked to look at that again. Got nothing of the ball, clearly got Kane.

Ridiculous. As ridiculous as the way we "performed" in the first half so a good fit on the day.

Maybe but they still have tens times more creativity in midfield.... and that is where games are won.

Its not the personel, its the formation.
Dele and Ndombele are not wide players and peh was to deep.
We left a huge gaping hole in tbe middle of the park.
Fine for the first 10 mins, but when you see its not working, which it clearly wasn't, the manager needs to do something.

The only reason we looked better in the 2nd half was because the game was already done, and they took their foot off the gas. I`m no Mourihno fan but he had Deles number. Even our first 3 games that we managed to win papered over the cracks. We have got to face facts and realise that this is a mid table squad even with a couple of world class players in it. Although one of thems head and heart doesn`t seem to be on it at the moment.

Nuno must go after those stats. He clearly knows nothing. Anyone of us ( including Scara !) could not do any worse.

He's been in charge for 6 league games, and he's not been here for a full three months yet. I don't think he's the answer to our problems, but unless we got someone ace lined up, I don't think we should sack him just to get Mason back as caretaker.

I agree 100%

The way we were intimidated the first 20 was the biggest issue for me. Press us and we crumble. We need to be able to deal with a keen press and not fall apart even in an intimidating place. Shows our lack of strength and conviction.

To do what we did - try to attack but not hold onto the ball while leaving ourselves exposed for them to have a free run at us, that was naive in the extreme.

1. the attackers can't give up possession so easily with brick passes, plus no fouls to stop the break. 2. we have to foul to stop breaks a number of players could have 'intervened' on their breaks 3. the defense need to mark free runners better! Abyamang left free in the box while Dier is marking space etc

Ultimately we need some stability. We need to let the manager work it out.

The first time I've seen the Death Star referred to as intimidating.

That game was like so many there
Except we normally take the lead and then lose
It’s not new
It’s crazy how often it happens
We will win 2 nil at home like we seem to do regularly too

It's a mess all round. We have a coach/manager who was about 5th choice... he knows this, so do the players.
Dele/Dier/Sanchez - jokers
Ndombele - conistently inconsistent
That's the norm... factor in Kane who was p1ss poor and anyone else below par and we end up getting spanked again.
Nuno didn't help but ain't the cause.
