Dempsey is so out of form and shockingly low in confidence.....he should be nowhere near the first team
Carroll is too like for like for THudd (apart from build!). Both play deep and knit things together but neither are likely to bring you drive from CM with runs forward. Dembele would make more of a difference and came on v Lazio so should be ok to play
