We can confirm that Guglielmo Vicario has today (Monday 25 November) undergone surgery for a fracture of his right ankle.

The 28-year-old suffered the injury during Saturday’s Premier League victory at Emirates Marketing Project.

Guglielmo will be assessed by our medical staff to determine when he can return to training.
Google AI says

"Healing time
Most people need at least 6 to 10 weeks to fully heal, but it can take several months to return to sports at your previous level. If surgery was required, it could take up to two years for your ankle to heal completely."

Google provided links, 1 of 3 says up to two years for sports, the other 2 don't mention 2 years except for children.

Thankfully I'm already on anti-depressants.

If it's a hairline fracture, it's a lot shorter recovery

My son did his end of August he can't kick a ball yet.

February at the earliest, I’d say. More likely March or beyond. He’s had surgery on a weight bearing area. They may well be cautious and give him longer.

A hairline fracture wouldn't require surgery, surely?

It can do, but most often wouldn't.
At the moment it's all guess work with what it was and how long he will be out for.

We all know it will be a while, as it always seems to be longer than we ll think. I'm just hoping he won't be out for too long.

Unbelievable result against City. Unfortunately it came at a cost with Big Vic having surgery on a broken ankle. Hope it doesn't cost us in the upcoming games without him and his shot stopping heroics.

Im off to Chile tomorrow. Where is the best place to watch the game in Santiago?

Thanks in advance.

We will win 4-0 everyone will get hype and say we have finally turned that 600 mile corner and then we will lose to Fulham.

The mistake is to think any one result is a turning of a corner. It doesn't happen. Our fans are just to quick to rain praise and dream of the stars. It's a gradual process that will take time. Even if we beat both teams nothing will have changed , it won't be proof of anything beyond our ability to win those two matches.

Obviously the result and general performance of the team are most important but as a nice lil side plot I hope Bergvall can really assert himself this game. There's a bit of momentum with him getting minutes for Sweden and coming on for the closing stages against City, where he looked fine with what was obviously not a lot of time and a fairly cushy game state.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't start and he'll have Bentancur alongside him as well, Galatasaray was a bit of a nightmare for everyone - Hopefully that'll be behind us and we can see some of the young Swede's pre season form transfer into a competitive game. Otherwise I share the view that a loan in January might be the best move, as a helpful buffer somewhere in between the level of the Swedish league and the EPL, as respectfully, that's a bit of a chasm and so far it has been plain to see.

No idea on Santiago but glad to see you're alive and well - was starting to wonder
