*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur vs Olympic Marseille ***

Lenglet talking about the team not knowing whether to focus on defending or attacking in the first half, it sounds like.

Interesting interview with Lenglet there. His English is weak but sounds like the shackles were put on first half and they were thrown off at half time.

Is it all just part of Conte’s plan? Defend deep first half and let the opposition tire themselves out, then play more progressively second half when the opposition can’t press as much? I can’t believe that’s he’s just incapable of motivating the players or getting the tactics right first half, game after game after game after game.

Has to be part of a plan - to combat the long season, maybe/hopefull/probably? Time will tell but it's too frequently played out that way to be coincidence.

I've said from the beginning that as long as we're in a good place going in to WC the season will br judged on what we do in the 2nd half of the season

Well said, if the boot was on the other foot tonight. And Marseilles had come back away from home to clinch it, we would have been same old Tottenham.

No denying we were poor 1st half, but the team showed some serious heart and bottle in the 2nd half.

What a finish by PEH too

BT just said something like Spurs have taken the most points from losing positions in the PL and the Champions League.
That's not insignificant

we had no outball, and there was no pressure on their defence when they had it, Kane was having an evening stroll in no mans land

Moura did exactly that in the second half and we turned them around far more regularly, and got out of our third

Yep, Moura's energy helped for sure! However, Kane didn't turn in to some target man beast though 2nd half upon Hoddle's advice, we just managed to find the space and had worn Marseille down by that stage

Glens a snake though, didn't call anything right other than the standard obvious calls like"we need to score a goal"

Well after that first half I never saw that coming. I am not a fan of Emerson but he looked so much better than Sess at RB. And how good was Rodrigo in the 2nd half my Spurs MOTM by a mile. The stupid thing is that Marseille are not that good we just made a team of prem rejects look good
