OMT - Tottenham Hotspur vs Norwich *FRIENDLY*

No one from either Club needs to isolate apparently as they are not deemed to have come into close contact with the guy for long enough.

Seems odd I know but perhaps there is something in the latest reports that asymptomatic people very rarely spread it and that the virus is beginning to mutate into a weaker form.
It's such nonsense.... literally 2 weeks ago a player testing positive, whom had actually played in a game as well, would render games those two teams had coming up unplayable.

Nothings changed since then except the premier league's juggernaut has started its engines.

True but we know more now about the virus.

Keeping stuff closed has dire consequences of its own and its especially worthwhile getting on with things if its true about asymptomatics rarely spreading and the virus already acting like sars in mutating to a weaker form.

Also it looks like oxford have a vaccine that prevents it getting in the lungs and thus renders it to be only as bad as a cold at worst. That vaccine is now in phase 3 trials and they have given this vaccine to front line workers in Brazil to prove its efficacy beyond doubt.

As long as all goes well that can be rolled out to the most vulnerable in around 3 months. They are already making billions and billions of doses of it as they are quite sure it works.

No it wouldnt. The rule has always been about being with 2 metres of someone for 15 mins

By that token why has it taken them so long to get to this stage.

My point isn't even about health, it's about perception and the prem leagues agenda.

I think your second sentence is the answer to the question in the first. Perception. The PL re-starting this week but behind closed doors is reasonable given that schools are partly back, non-essential shops open from tomorrow etc. I think had the PL re-started say 3-4 weeks ago then it would have been perceived as PL taking priority over everything else in life, but its now re-starting at the time the rest of the world is re-opening

People have short memories, Poch could have been our Simeone but rightly or wrongly he totally lost the plot by the end making ridiculous statements, playing absurd systems and generally becoming an ultra moody and angry individual.

It was quite obvious that by the end both he and the players were generally quite happy to have a parting of the ways, despite a clear fondness built up over many years between them. A real shame just as the new era was beginning.

With regards the Emirates Marketing Project ban, the hearing has been completed and a decision will be announced in July.

Thanks

if its true about asymptomatics rarely spreading the virus

This misinformation occurred because a scientist said "asymptomatic" to mean a truly asymptomatic person.
Whereas the media have been including presymptomatic and paucisymptomatic people into their general shorthand "asymptomatic".

So the scientist was talking about a small group of truly asymptomatic people and the media wrongly reported it as applying to a much wider range of people.

Exactly. If infected people that don't feel sick didn't transmit the virus, this would not be the pandemic we have witnessed.

its a shame we didnt lose 5-0, i hate reading performances from pointless friendlies, *remembers us beating Roma 5-0 and then 2 points from 8 games or something*

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/government-launches-nhs-test-and-trace-service

When test and trace was announced, the government said "anyone who tests positive for coronavirus will be contacted by NHS Test and Trace and will need to share information about their recent interactions. This could include household members, people with whom they have been in direct contact, or within 2 metres for more than 15 minutes".

Football seems to have to have dropped the 'direct contact' element of this.

Man to man marking will clearly have to be banned.... ;)
