Took a couple of heavy knocks but at least he looked to move the ball quickly.

Trippier also couldn't defend, he was excellent at crossing the ball admittedly.

He's not incredible at tracking back, and looks a bit overweight, but my word, what a player he is. We need to find a lad to partner him in midfield. Get an RB and a defensive mid to complement N'Dombele in January, and we'll be allright.

We sold a defensively poor right back and replaced him with a lad with talent but absolutely no brain who, as a result, is much worse than Trippier.

So your point is fundamentally right but you're well over estimating how good Trippier is.
