I would have preferred it if he genuinely was offside, just to make them feel more sickTrue, true.
Feels wrong in the ‘spirit’ of the game, but even refs are saying he was on, so yep - he was on.

Er, look at the bolded bits. I don’t think shifting the rules to make it easier to score is a good thing, it’s a game of balance, attacking shouldn’t be more important than defending.
Will this Naby Keita solve Liverpools midfield deficiencies?
These are the rules, no shift required!

The large majority of the time keepers dive. So going down the middle is probably the highest percentage shot. Had he hit more centrally and higher, it could have gone in.I don’t know why Kane took a gamble with his penalty and didn’t just take it as he usually does.
Im not even sure Lamela went down too easily - one of the angles show VVD kicking him full whack in the back of the leg - that's gonna hurt...
A kick in the hamstring from that lardarse VVD would definitely hurt. Assistant ref had the best view.
Has anyone seen a gif off the angle where you can clearly see the connection?
Can we sign a petition to get Lawro sacked, for not knowing the fundamental rules of the job he is getting paid for?
Did anyone else think that Kane dived on the non penalty? I thought that there was contact with the keeper, but I could be wrong.
Just watching it again on MOTD. Klopp is such an odious so-and-so with his leaping antics and gurning.
I’m honestly confused. I don’t know in which World a player can kick another player in the leg and it not be a penalty. Yet, all over RAWK, they think that Lamela cheated. Though they would cry about it, they’re just sad to have wasted £75m on the donkey Van Dijk.
