***OMT: Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool***

Have to wonder if Klopp gets a punishment from the FA. Went far in his post match comments saying that the ref/assistant was just after attention or something like that. Seems like the kind of thing that gets you some games in the stands.

I made a point in an earlier post. Klop is a Hippocrit who is far too influenced by his own emotions. He complained that the decisions changed the game. But the first pen was like in the 90th min and by the letter of the law was a pen. But then he complains that Lamela went down easy. Please look at your own players before you come out with that Clap Trap.

Also his massive run down the side line and celebrations are just embarrassing.

We don't tend to play those players as the deepest DM against the teams that press us high as Dier is the more defensive option.

Dier screwed up terribly but if we keep asking a player (any player) to take the ball out of defence, against a high press and give him few options, it's going to keep happening

Dier has done this against teams that press no where near as hard as Liverpool though. I’ll have to check the games when I have a chance but I’m pretty sure he did something similar at Southampton. And in a home game against a middling team earlier this season too. A player better on the ball would turn out of trouble or see his options quicker, or just get rid. It isn’t a good feature of his game and if teams target him, it’s because he needs to improve and cut it out.

The issue with Dier is that it’s happened enough times to be noticeable, Walker was the same, the 100’s of perfect balls are ignored because that’s what we expect.

It was obvious that they target Dier when he is on the ball. Is he a bad player? NO. But somtimes he is too up himself. He does have a good pass on him, and sometimes he passes first time as he has looked the pass before he receives it. But they target swarmed him and so he was moved out of the firing line. Dembele can deal with this and i thought that was a masterstroke by Poch. he put Dier to the right of the diamond that he implemented.

Im not even sure Lamela went down too easily - one of the angles show VVD kicking him full whack in the back of the leg - that's gonna hurt...

yes, but he did jump with both feet. A Pen all day, but not a natural way of going down. Its one of the South American ways of highlighting the kick.

Klopp really is a sour man when things don’t go his way. Sitting in a bar I was thinking ‘justice was done’ when Kane missed because I knew I would have been annoyed if that was given against us given the offside. But if he’s on because it’s Lovren’s mistake to not control it, then he’s on. Don’t slag off the refs for taking their time, discussing it rationally and applying the law as it should be applied.

As for Lamela’s pen, he was kicked in the back of the leg. It’s a pen. Just because they decided to take their time again, and make sure they came to the right decision, it doesn’t mean they have cost your team the game. We can argue all day about which pens were soft given that very few are obvious clatterings, but he was kicked in the area when he was trying to get the ball to create a chance. Suck it up Klopp, you don’t have a divine right to win these games.

Look at your own team and your own decisions for only getting one goal on us when you dominated the first half, and for playing like a League 2 team hoping to scrape a draw in the second. We came at you and deserved at least the point. Suck it up.

I agree - sometimes it is not purely Dier’s fault for being put in that position and it is arguable that Poch trusts him too much. But he changed it, took him out of the firing line and this is before considering what Dier gave us defensively.

I’m so glad we have Dier and I think he is so important to us, for reasons of being an example to others as to what we expect from this club, for his belief and mentality, and for his tactical flexibility. But these moments of poor concentration cost us today, they cost us at OT and they could have cost us in other games had the opposition not had strikers that were slower than Salah. It can’t go on.

The defender touches the ball trying to clear it, and misses playing Kane on, so it was a legit pen, The second pen, its a pen, but a soft one for me. Lamela ran into the leg (thank goodness!) and bought the pen. Technically a pen I think, but a soft one. Would have been upset if it had been given against us.
It's actually thr same kind of situation as when Wimmer scored an OG vs Arsenal. If the defender just leaves it, it's offside, but when they don't, it's a new situation, and the attacker is no longer in a punishable offside

One other point id like to bring up.

Salah's Second goal. Apart from the lucky bobble and then the lack of defending for him to get through.

But Hugo went down way to early. And he made the cardinal sin that a lot of Right handed Goalkeepers do on their left side in going down on his right side making it easier for Salah to clip it over him. Stay big or go down on your left whilst keeping your right high and he saves it. Soft goal for a lot of reasons.

About 5 as you well know
City, United, PSG, Real and Barca!
I'm not sure, being an anti-semite is a pretty hot topic, and could land a club in trouble if they weren't a cult like the jobless, thieving clams in Liverpool.

Might be a plus point for City's owners and PSG's though. Real and Barca need a cleaner image than that.

Whilst typing this, I just realised that they managed to sell Suarez to Barca, so add them to the list.

good point and we did not get the rub of the green on that one.

Dier will be back on the bench soon enough for those who don’t rate him.

I think he’s been hit and miss all season (woeful today) but so have all of the squad
