*** OMT - TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs. Leicester City ***

I believe we must field our strongest side today, as this is a match we can win, whereas the next two games we could easily lose whatever side we put out. A Christmas with no points would be a disaster.

I do think this is the way to go. Take one game at a time. Strongest team out possible today please Mo. As posted previously, everybody else plays today as well, so we are all in the same boat, its not like today is an EL tie and United have had 7 days rest, they will have players with tired legs too, plus they same to have a few more injuries to key players than we do so may well have less options to rotate

Concentrate on trying to secure maximum points today and worry about the team for United tomorrow and Sunday

COYS make it an enjoyable Boxing Day this year. That 1-1 v WBA last season put a bit of dampener on last years

I don't think there is too much worry that Poch will not think likewise.

Plus I see the next two games needing different teams

Starting 11 against Burnley today but would consider including Strambouli, Dembele and Lennon against Manure instead of Chadli, Bentaleb and Mason, plus (waits for the abuse) Adebayor. Whatever you say, he is a big game player and scored against both Utd and Chelscum...

Hi guys,
I'm a long time lurker but thought it was about time to post.

Can't wait as its been a while since I've seen my beloved Spurs. Leicester are my local team so I'll be sitting with the home support :-( hoping to end my run of 4 Spots losses against Leicester.

A few years ago, we used to field virtually 2 different teams during the Christmas holiday matches. It is a pity that we don't have that squad depth now. We are badly lacking the squad depth that we can't afford to rest too many players now. With us playing 3 days in 7 matches in this holiday period, lack of rest for our key players are going to play a huge role in how we do in these matches. I will prefer if we can rest a few players against Leicester and field out strongest 11 against ManU instead. But our lack of quality players means we will struggle badly against Leicester if we rest key players. So, we have to play our best in both matches and hope they don't tire out.

I think our squad depth is the best it's ever been, I also don't recall us playing virtually two different sides over the Xmas games, when did that happen?

THFC Team: Lloris; Walker, Fazio, Vertonghen, Rose; Bentaleb, Stambouli; Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli; Kane.

Subs: Vorm, Chiriches, Davies, Mason, Paulinho, Townsend, Soldado.

Pretty much our strongest teak given that Mason is carring a knock; could easily argue Soldado vs Chadli either way - I would have gone with Soldado.

I do wonder then what we'll do for UTd - not really a game where you dont want to pla your strongest team but can the same team pla 48 hours later? I guess there's a few players who could come in without weakning the team too much - Davies, Chiriches, Mason, Soldado for Rose, Walker, Stambo and Chadli. So that would leave 6 outfielders starting both games - I guess if we could take 3 of those 6 after an hour today then that leaves 3....

Interesting that Ade, Kaboul, Capoue, Dembele, Lennon and Naughton are not even in the squad

No Lennon again, unless he's injured which im sure he isn't, he's blatantly going to be sold in a few weeks. No pace. Good decision spurs!

Sitting on my porcelain throne using Fapatalk

He's injured - there was some article/comments confirming this a few days ago

Think we'll see some early subs for Kane and Eriksen today if we're up comfortably, which with that line up it doesn't seem too out of reach

Yep. 2 or 3 seasons too late. He gas been lucky to last here as long as he has. The only clubs who will cone in for him will be the likes of West Ham, QPR or Stoke.

We all know that Ade, Kaboul and Capoue are finished at Spurs...not sure you can read too much into the other selections:
- Paulinho is on the bench and Lennon is injured.
- Chiriches is preferred to Naughton presumably, perhaps on ability but also because he can cover RB and CB
- re Dembele, given Mason is on the bench then there was really only room for one of Paulinho or him
