****OMT- TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR VS Chelski**********

People saying they are angry with Ade because of a performance like this, why can't he get more support from us? To me he puts effort in every game, but he was lacking a lot of confidence for whatever reason. Tonight it was there and we got a good performance.

Torres seems to get the 'Aww poor Torres, he's going through some tough times' treatment from a lot of the media while Ade gets mocking and patronisation, particularly from commentators. 'Even Adebayor had a good game tonight!' I'm sure I heard as they went to a break. It's pretty ridiculous. Just because he is capable of scoring a goal like tonight it doesn't mean we deserve it every game. Just because he misses the chances like against West Ham it doesn't mean he isn't bothering.

There's clearly something else at work in his mind other than just 'lazy ****' and I think some of our supporters' attitudes towards him have been absolutely shameful.

I don't want to be negative today as it was a great result and a good performance from ade, but I have to answer self righteous posts like this. Ade has a decent game and surprise surprise his apologists take the high ground ignoring the fact that for 90% of the season his performances have been frankly embarassing. Lack of confidence? Heads gone? Thing is it has happened at all his clubs to such an extent that it leaves us justifilably cynical towards him. If he plays like today more often who the hell would criticise him? Bale has played poorly at times this season but obviously he has built up enough good will for him to be forgiven these. We definately need a better main striker even if ade was to be a second striker. Of course the problem is, his salary is probably restricting who we can go out and buy.

Before the Bayern game last season I was the ****iest, most optimistic Spurs fan you'll ever meet. That game affected me more than any other event in my life. It changed my whole attitude to football. It turned me in to a cold, realistic fan that knows when to expect defeat.

Serious question: Would anyone in AVBs position discarded the Europa cup to concentrate on top 4 as we have a limited squad and budget.

Absolutely not. If we are incapable of playing EPL and Europa games how can we expect to succeed in ECL games?

Or are you one of the many fans who think that "taking part" is the goal?

No. It's about supporting the team through thick and thin.

Yep. Many of us have. A few ultimately haven't joining us post 2005 and seeing 5th as a failure. You know what I feel a Steff moment coming on here! I've just got back from 3 hours in A&E with my little boy so football is a little bit less important right now but....

Yes I'm fudged off we've not strengthened in the past few windows
Yes I'm fudged off we lost our best creative centre midfielder in LM
Yes I'm fudged off we've lost a 10 point and a 7 point lead over them lot in successive seasons but I LOVE this club and if we suffered back to back relegations I'd still be on that waiting list for a ST and cheering us on week in week out.

COME ON YOU SPURS!!

Twitter / OptaJoe: 34 - Arsenal have picked up 34 Premier League points in 2013, only Man Utd (36) have more this year. Gallop.

ARSEnal - 34pts - Won:10 / Drawn:4 / Lost:3 / For:30 / Against:13
Chavski - 31pts - Won:9 / Drawn:4 / Lost 4 / For:30 / Against:19
Spurs - 30pts - Won:8 / Drawn:6 / Lost:2 / For:27 / Against:19

Considering we've played a game less that's great form from us, some sloppily conceded goals have cost us as much as the poor form of our strikers really.

It ain't our strikers. It is our defence. We scored 2 again and did not win tonight.

Yeah fine I accept that and I still support the team. Obviously I want us to finish in the top 4 and will cheer them on to do so, which is support, but also I will criticise them where I feel appropriate.

"The game is about glory" - those words are plastered all over White Hart Lane, and those are the words in the tunnel. Our players are meant to do their best to do that, because that's what Spurs are all about. We don't sing Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur for nothing. We are a club based on glory.

Its funny perhaps it's because of all the crap this clubs been through in a footballing sense I feel good about the way this season has gone so far. I really enjoyed the Europa League and found our attitude refreshing. Of course would love it if we can go all the way. But I am proud to be a Spurs supporter as we can't go out and throw away over £100 milion on a striker and 4 midfielders and we tried to win a tournament rather than spending just 2013 trying to finish 4th

I agree with you and AVB, its just been a point mentioned about affecting out chances this season and last.

Thanks a lot mate. Yeah he started coughing around the time Ade equalised and it turns out he's got croop or croot (Unsure of spelling). His cough has a real bark to it anyway so we went down there and had it looked at. Didn't take the phone as I know I'd've checked livescore so just set sky plus and watched it from the second half onwards about an hour ago.

Definitely takes a back seat does the football in times like that.

That CL final last year left many scares for me too, even after the Arsenal game a couple months back I would get depressed and think "we'll still fudge it up, last year will repeat itsel!" That was until a couple of weeks ag0 I watched this again.

2:58 onwards

"In the end, you can never use the fact that things went wrong before to prove a point"

I know he was talking about himself and his career but I feel that it is something that us fans could learn from, all the time we have to have some reference to talk about whilst articulating any kinds of frustrations, the term 'typical Tottenham' that sums it up for me.

That final was the worse thing that happened to me as a fan but I think that if we treat it the same way we did 'lasagne gate' then I don't think we'll get anywhere. Easy to say admittedly but they've happened and all we do is focus on the now.

Seriously, what has happened to Ade?

Formation mate. 4-3-3. He's spent a lot of the season in 4-5-1 where his job has been to drop in, drop out wide, hold the ball up and create space...I do think his control tonight went up a notch after the goal, some of his footwork was sublime...happy for him. Happier for us of course. A point gained considering we did not have our starting central midfield and Azza was not 100% by a long-shot...very gutsy performance. We coud focus on the errors and sloppiness in places, but I'd rather focus on the spirit grit, guile when it counted and endeavor. PROUD of my boys! COYFS!!!!

What are you talking about, we needed a win today to keep things in our hands and we didnt get that and now as always we have thrown every possible advantage away to be in a departed hoping for the opposition to slip up position. Yeah proud as hell....

Behave FFS! Or are you another youngster who had no hint of context...FFS, our central midfield out, our right winger not 100%...and BTW, look at the sides above us. More money bigger squads. Plus we might yet make the CL. Get over yerself!
