The player cost argument has to be weighted to some degree, every player Chelsea or city sign has another 5-10m tacked on because the selling club know they can afford it, prices are inflated accordingly, had either signed Lloris for example it would have been 20m. People saying they are angry with Ade because of a performance like this, why can't he get more support from us? To me he puts effort in every game, but he was lacking a lot of confidence for whatever reason. Tonight it was there and we got a good performance.

Torres seems to get the 'Aww poor Torres, he's going through some tough times' treatment from a lot of the media while Ade gets mocking and patronisation, particularly from commentators. 'Even Adebayor had a good game tonight!' I'm sure I heard as they went to a break. It's pretty ridiculous. Just because he is capable of scoring a goal like tonight it doesn't mean we deserve it every game. Just because he misses the chances like against West Ham it doesn't mean he isn't bothering.

There's clearly something else at work in his mind other than just 'lazy ****' and I think some of our supporters' attitudes towards him have been absolutely shameful.

The fact that he applied himself today shows that he knows his days are numbered here. Hes looking for another mug to pick up his salary. Its not like fans have driven him out like Armstrong or Ghaly, its worse - people expect nothing from him now hence the reaction to him scoring today. The man is a joke and its useless blaming fans for this as the real joke is he's laughing his way to the bank while we are debating his first decent performance in months.

Even so, their central 3 (Luiz, Ramires, Mata) all cost £20m+, our most expensive player in the central trio was Parker.

Cahill would have cost a lot more than £7m if not for his expiring contract anyway.

Hoddle was defending AVB from what I could gather. He said he's done well with the squad he's got. He also said the players aren't good enough, but that's obviously Levy's fault as AVB prob doesn't have final say on all transfers.

It was very close, only just onside, and to be fair he looked slightly off for the goal anyway, so it balances. I'm more annoyed about the little decisions from Dean. He gave a lot of soft freekicks to them and bugger all to us.

So even though we haven't won at stamford bridge for 20 years, it is now expected that we do so and some of you are having tantrums because we only got a draw. The chelsea team cost GHod knows how much more than ours and is packed with top class talent. To be honest I thought we were going to get hammered so i feel proud of the lads that kept going to get the draw.

Adebayor's best game in a Spurs shirt this season by a country mile.

With Stoke away & Sunderland at home, we have every chance of finishing the season with our Premier League Era record points haul.

Whether it will be enough to secure Champions League Football for next season remains to be seen.

It's not about playing Chelsea, it's about thinking of the importance of the game. We should have gone in to the game as if it was a cup final. A play-off game to qualify for the CL. We played like a completely average team, and Chelsea didn't even look anywhere near their best. Our midfield was non-existent. I'm not proud in the slightest - we weren't on form. We got two lucky goals. We were beyond lucky when Ramires slipped, so we should be thankful to get a draw I guess.

Agree totally, we didnt deserve to win on Saturday and followed it up in another inept performance (in the circumstances) to put us in the usual relying on others to fail. If we are being honest we've been poor for some time now and dont deserve to be in the CL.

Yeah. I refuse to be called pessimistic, I'm just realistic when it comes to life and Spurs. Like you say, last season was so draining and disappointing that being optimistic just doesn't work fore me.

We haven't thrown it away. Nothing of the sort. Chelsea and Arsenal's form over the last few months has been obscene.

Because Chelsea are a far better team/squad than us, and were battling for the same prize. Like I said above, did you expect Chelsea to lie down?
