Woke this morning hoping the anger would have passed but I’m still fudging fuming and sick over yesterday.

How in the name of fudge are we in this position? How do we end up needing 2 points from our last three games, lose the first two against a side who hadn’t won away in 8 and another who hadn’t won at home in 5, leaving us needing to beat the toughest of the three opponents.

There’s no excuses for this. Poch can talk all this brick about “we are doing great just to be here” but if we don’t make CL, it is the biggest bottle job in our history. And it’s not like the competition isn’t stiff.

He’s done great to have us competing, no doubt. We are punching above our weight to be top 4 too. But, given where we were, we should have made it by now even with all the extenuating circumstances. There are no excuses for the scale of the bad results over the last few months. Now is the time to just go and get the job done.

As a fan it's always better to accept that nothing is ever a given in football. Ever. We could still go on to win the Champions League AND qualify in third place. Equally we could end up getting thumped 0-5 by Ajax and finishing sixth.

But even getting thumped by Ajax and limping into fourth with a 0-0 against Everton would still represent an excellent season.

Regrettably the odds are now against us in both competitions, but the fat ladies still singing so you never know.

Still fuming. Weekend is proper ruined. Hate this club at times. Can’t snap out of it!

I hear you. Spent yesterday after the game sat on my couch wallowing in misery and before I knew it, the day was gone.

Woke up today feeling the same. Could be so different had we won. fudge this lifetime affliction supporting this bloody football club.

They owe us big time over the next week.

I’m a 36 year old man with a family! I’m acting like and idiot. Wrecking the place yesterday and woken up in a foul mood! Scared my kids yesterday too. I’ve seriously got a problem. Nothing gets me more angrier than this club.

It feels like some sort of addiction. Certain games where you know you’ve fudged up and inside your feel you’ve blown it. I just go mad

Honestly don’t know how to stop this. If I don’t watch the game or know what’s going on it’s worse !

Agree with all that, the stupidity of Son and Foyth yesterday still astounds me. Performance was actually quite good in the first 30 mins and last 43

As I posted elsewhere, lets hope that Arse or Chelsea drop some points today making things a little easier. Even just one of them dropping points would be a massive boost

The scaring the kids bit is taking it too far. I fudged my phone yesterday and gave the couch a good fudging kick in front of my young lad but just left the room before I went nuts altogether.

Don’t think he was scared. I hope not. Bad enough Spurs have fudged up my weekend without doing the same to his.

I know. Feel a clam for doing that. I was throwing stuff around in the other room and making a racket. I lost the plot. I think next season when I’m not at the games I’ll have to watch somewhere else.

Our performance overall was good. Result ruined by some understandable, but avoidable errors. Son, Dier, Foyth, Wanyama. They have to learn, we have to improve. I think we will, with or without CL football next season.

I don’t really care for performance at this stage. The win is all that matters.

Sorry mate but still don’t agree that waiting for other clubs to do their business before we sign players is lunacy. What if Emirates Marketing Project, United and Liverpool don’t sign anyone in the next window? Does that mean we should wait for them? That’s like going to look at a house and waiting for some one with more money to come and put and offer in for it. Goes without saying there will always be players who are out of our reach financially but there plenty of players who are affordable. We pretty much have to sign players that the bigger clubs don’t want or are unsure about taking a chance on, that will always be the case.

Look from the player’s perspective.

Maybe he’s happy to consider coming to us, but just wants to wait for a while in case one of the bigger fish come in.

How do you play that? You can’t force him to sign.

Say he will come. But only for £250k a week. And the agent wants 15%. What if we can’t stretch to that?

Should we sign someone we don’t really want? Something we’ve moaned about for ages as Spurs fans.

I like you BoL but it sounds like you’re trying to have your cake and eat it too. When people questioned our lack of activity in the market a few days ago I believe your words where “we’re 3rd so maybe there was methods in the madness”. So if we finish in the top 4 it means the strategy has worked, but if we don’t then hey its only one season?

There’s a reason why what we have done with no signings is unprecedented and given our return this season I can’t see it catching on. You need to buy players just to stand still let alone to progress.

As I’ve said before, I think we’re too picky when it comes to signing players.

And as I’ve said previously, very few clubs have achieved what we have achieved in terms of regular CL football while building a new stadium, training ground etc, and signing most of our key top players to longer term contracts. If ‘most of football’ hasn’t done it before, my argument would be that most of football hasn’t achieved what we have. I like the fact that we have acted differently, and acted with clarity of purpose. And frankly I think if we had let’s say 2 less injuries this season, 3rd would have already been sewn up a while back.

We will buy players this summer. I think we will make some pretty big moves whether we finish 3rd or 6th. I’m not advocating not signing players. I’m saying in the context of last summer, with all the variables we had to deal with, I can see why we did it and I think we benefited from it in certain respects. For one thing, that team spirit which we have so carefully cultivated may well be the thing that got us to a CL semi when we looked dead and buried.

If he’s waiting for another club or his wages are unrealistic then you move on and pursue other targets, you have a plan b. You don’t not sign anyone in two windows. Even Emirates Marketing Project miss out on players from time to time. They didn’t get Sanchez as his wage demands were too high even for them! Granted they are at the top of the food chain but the principle is the same. You have targets in mind that are your first choice, if they don’t come to fruition then you go to your next choice. If you don’t have backups then you’re basically AVB when we didn’t sign Moutinho and Hulk.
