Now, by the standards of a few decades ago, that pitch would have been like a grass carpet.
However, these players don't know that time - they were brought up in today's game, which is so stuffed with money that the pitches have become literal works of art and feats of engineering brilliance.
So when faced with the sort of pitch they faced today, playing anywhere near decently would have been a massive challenge. Thus, the disjointed performance is understandable.
Lloris had one save and two punches of note to make. Verts played well. Davies was competent. Sanchez was competent too, although it's for the best that he came off. Trippier was done by a ball in behind quite a few times, but now it's no longer surprising, just wearying. Dier and Eriksen were solid, if uninspiring. And that goes for the rest of the attackers, too - bar Son, who had one of his 'off' days.
And Kane came on and played a wonderful, physics-defying ball out to Alli, who finished it well. So he was good in his own inimitable way.
Other than that, not much to say. We came out here, got the three points, and that's all that matters. Shutting up the Swansea goons heckling Alli was only a bonus above and beyond a job effectively done, regardless of the manner of the victory.
