OMT ***Tottenham Hotspur v Real Madrid***

All the haters (including pundits) talking the win down.

Saying how bad Madrid were rather than how well we were set up.

McManaman was funny last night, first his Liverpool were dismantled then last night his Real were humbled.
Made it all the sweeter.
Pundits are quite funny when they try to explain some results.
Glenn look actually annoyed because he had less to pontificate about “they (Spurs) should do it this way or that way” so disappointing from one of the best “Spurs” legends.

Great result last night. A truly professional performance. We played them at the best time but it was always going to be difficult.

Now we must take this result on and get some league wins. The problem with Spurs is when we have a few good results we think we have made it, only to lose to West Ham and Utd.

Lets also hope Toby comes back within the next couple of week.

What a night and what a performance. Never thought that we could make that kind of atmosphere at Wembley, the ground was buzzing from the kick off and rarely heard the Real fans at all.

In all honesty it could easily have been 5 but equally there were also occasions when Real might have scored. Special shout out for Trippier who really seems to have upped his game since Aurier arrived and in my view put in his best performance for Spurs last night. Hugo was also superb and held many shots that other keepers would have pushed away while the 3 central defenders barely gave Benzema and Ronaldo a kick.

When the draw was made who would have thought that we would take 4 points off of Real Madrid and qualify with 2 games remaining!

Just one thought. I see that the crowd was announced as 83,700 although it seemed larger than our record crowd against Bayer Leverkusen last year. Apart from a small section next to the Real supporters there were very few empty seats around.

There where no more than 2500 in the away section, so that's 2000 missing, then add the seats covered for segregation between home/away fans, and there were also quite a few of the bottom rows covered in the East/West ends(restricted view because of the high advertising boards in CL). Total capacity in CL is a bit less than 88k, so apart from the absence of away supporters from "the biggest club in the world", it was pretty much a full stadium.

Just not comparable imo

We had had loads of great wins and followed them up with more

Losing to spam and united really have to be put into context

I have to say I shed a few tears when we scored the third. It was just a thing of beauty. From back to front in 3 passes before it arrived at Eriksen's feet, Real fcuking Madrid surgically sliced open. Everyone watching at Wembley and at home on their feet, just willing him to finish the move and score, and he did. 3-0!!!!!

Seriously it just doesn't get better than that

As good as we were, Real Madrid were poor by their standards. Yes of course that was partly down to us, but they are so much better than that and their body language all game was poor. We should be grateful we caught them at the right time, and if we were to meet them again in the knockouts it would be a very different story....

Cristiano Ronaldo claims Tottenham didn't deserve to beat Real Madrid at Wembley as galacticos' poor run continues
“Irritated on the pitch? It’s normal. When you’re losing, things don’t go the way you want them to and you want to help your teammates,
“It was a very big blow to go 3-0 down, although for me it wasn’t a good reflection of what happened on the pitch.
“Their first goal was offside, just like the other day. Our attitude is to run and fight, like it was at Girona.”
