*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Emirates Marketing Project

It is beyond belief any self respecting Spurs fan would want them to lose, any that do want to grow up or go and support a team which reflects their personality.
If we were 9th would you still want us to win, knowing it would help them? If you do, all good, and everyone has their opinion.

But I still like spurs and not want us to help them from south to win the league, with our help. 😀

Ferdinand, who was a boyhood Tottenham fan, turned around and was embraced by Iversen and Dominguez. The forward had struck for the first time in the calendar year after a season disrupted by injury.

“My job was to score goals and my initial thought was to run away and celebrate. Then reality kicked in and I thought, ‘If Arsenal win, they win the title,’ ” he says. “You are professional and there was not one player in the team who did not want to win due to Arsenal. It will be the same when Tottenham play City and I don’t see Spurs players downing tools because they don’t want Arsenal to win the title.”

The players & coaching staff should have course be trying their utmost to win the game - i just hope they don't

Edit : what sort of text filter is that...

Interesting to see these posters who feel they can tell others how to support their team.

Thing is mate, I dipped my toe in twitter land (a mistake of course - I rarely do) and came across loads of twitterati telling the likes of me that I'm 'not real Tottenham' because I want us to win. You know, the old 'I don't understand the rivalry, etc' gonads. I find that far far more insulting than any of the possible permutations being concocted.

And another!

Sorry i'm using the english definition of "support".

to agree with and give encouragement to someone or something because you want him, her, or it to succeed

Maybe in another language or alternative universe, it means something else. But the english version does not mean wanting your team to lose.

I can’t say I’ll go tomorrow wanting us to lose. But, if we do, it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world and I won’t lose much sleep over it.

I can completely understand people who won’t watch tomorrow and would rather Woolwich don’t win the league than we get 3 points which may not mean anything come Sunday afternoon. That’s not illogical or being less of a supporter.

This is a bricky and, as far as football goes, complex situation with a lot of different emotions. Like it or not, for many people including me, supporting a football club is about hating the other lot almost as much as you love your club. And that’s true the world over.

It's a goes-around, comes-around world. Maybe in 2 or 3 - or 53 - years, when we need Arsenal to get a result to help us win something, they'll look back, remember us beating the Mancs to help them win the league, and do a proper job.

Not bloody likely, but I'm trying to warm up to the notion that we're their bogey team. Don't want to see them deliberately tanking. A win for us would make next Sunday damned interesting.

Worst case scenario is that we win both our remaining games but Villa pull out a late draw at Selhurst Park and pip us to fourth on goal differential while Arsenal stomp Everton to win the league.

It's all very well the fan base splitting down the middle, however controversial the subject is, but the truth is that a city firing like it is vs us with the recent form and lack of a genuine left back means this is unlikely to be easy.

We usually get up for a game against these folk, but in terms of overall quality the mancs have a far stronger squad, with goals everywhere. It's clear Ange isn't throwing in the towel and three quarters of the squad won't have a clue how acrimonious the Gooner history is, but I expect us to be trying to play front foot attacking football, playing out from the back and experiencing the usual jitters as we do. City aren't going to sit so it's going to be end to end, with two teams trying to score one more than the opposition.

Should be a good game, and it's nice to still have something to play for this late in a transitional season. If we win then Villa have to go to palace who are absolutely flying under Glasner, and we have Sheffield United. That will make things very interesting last game of the season!

The whole debate has made me chuckle a bit today. City will most probably kick our arses whether we give it 100% or not.
If we play close to our best level we're more than capable of at least taking a point from them or winning with a bit of luck going our way. With our injuries and patchy form I'm not sure how likely it is that we'll be close to our best, but I think it's certainly a possibility.
