***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Emirates Marketing Project, Sunday Feb 1 KO - 4.30pm***

Right.

We are where we are.

I think we'd all agree the Prem is a fight fest, all hurly-burly and slugfesting. This ain't the rarified air of the CL where we can operate with a little more impunity and panache.
It's fight club every time we take a Premier League pitch.
Emirates Marketing Project, ironically, are a football team too, however they need points so be sure that Pep will pick his big strong units and look to niggle, chip, and 'professional' his lot to a grinder victory.

So it really is time to coalesce around Thomas and what he has to do, what he sort of likes doing in the Prem anyway, but certainly what we need to do. I want free-flowing passing football, but there's plenty I want that is unrealistic.
At this point, I freely concede it is ALL about the results in the Premier League because we need to avoid nasty relegation scraps.
So...on that basis...

Where possible I have gone for strength and height. Sarr/Biss was a tough one, but I think Biss is in good form and is rested up from no CL action, which is a margin we should use alongside Gallagher. Likewise, Solanke had limited time Wed so should be good to go.

I am not expecting much finesse in the middle (wise me) as we do not have a passer, and with Porro out we are down to one in the whole side. This will need to be plenty of what Frank likes - strength in duals and winning second-balls- and I think Biss and Gallagher bring that.

I think we'll get something from this as long as our confidence is flowing from Wed and not shattered by the fact it is the PL.
Here's to the boys and TF 'rollarballing' their way to some much-needed points!!!

Lots of injuries and exhausted players from the European campaign, so need to be strategic with this one. A big NLD to start building for too

we're playing one of our favourite teams to beat, and in fairness the games against these usually have little to do with form.

We started for a few minutes to play with some swagger the other night in Germany, and knock the ball around with some confidence. I doubt very much whether there is room for that level of confidence but what I hope is there is, is a recognition that we're able to beat teams by playing more expansively and not playing neggo-ball.

For all of the adverse press around Frank's ability to get a tune out of this side, he is not stupid - he's got to see that there's more to this side if he unlocks them - if he doesn't the noise is going to get so loud every time we don't win that its an inevitable slippery slope out the door.

I do like @Steff's line-up whereby the LCB or RCB can become the full back pushing either Spence or Udogie into the midfield role. We definitely have the personnel for these hybrid systems.

We need to be competitive in February.

I'm hoping for a good performance as a the result in Europe should have boosted our confidence, it didn't look like we had to work hard in that game so we should have something left in the tank.
It's early in the posts but I'm pleased to see no "hope we lose" posting yet.

Don’t even need to watch the video but it’s a completely different situation to the one under Ange in 2024 and we simply cannot afford to go into this game with the attitude of thinking about our rivals. Wanting the team to lose to city in 2024 was understandable and practical. We’re fighting for our lives now.

We can beat City and then we can beat the Goons. Honestly, stop this fudging nonsense every season - the Goons find their own ways to mess things up anyway....

Yup, last time we were in a similar scenario we had already gifted 6 points to those gobby Goons but hopefully this time we’ll break that horrendous run of form against them in which case beating €iteh shall have no nett benefit to SetPiece FC ⚖️

If we lose tomorrow then that means we will likely drop into bottom half of the 3 year aggregate PL table and ENIC Out crowd shall have plenty of new recruits come the final whistle… well if there’s any home fans left, as my group was one of the few still left in our block at the end of the West Ham game such was the exodus when Wilson scored!
