***** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea FC *****

i think if dembele isnt fit it is almost a certainty avb will play livermore and sandro. sad but true

If we want to beat Chelsea, then we need Dembele to start. Dont want the inexperienced and error-prone Livermore to start. Hudd is the better option I think.

I don't see how that is sad. All it means is we'll need to have creativity elsewhere.

Swap Livermore for Palacios and that was the pairing that bossed AC Milan at the San Siro, and they're actually a big team as opposed to these racist pricks we're playing saturday.

Livermore may not have as much bite in the tackle but he's a much better passer than Wilson, and he can track Ramires all day, which Huddlestone if he plays will not be able to do.

The Sandro Livermore partnership at the start of the season was ugly, no denying it, but I think a lot of that came from a lack of understanding in attacking play, now the players understand the system a bit more it'll be easier to ensure they won't get overrun.

this is an incredibly positive post. i like it. just a thought can dempsey or siggurdsson play centre mid or have they done so in the past?

H&J is probably the only decent show on Talksport, good content and decent presenters

agree with that, i used to listen to them every day when i drove to work and they had the early evening slot

loved the answer is ipswich and the birthday spread, do they still do that?

One final look at the Chavs:

A comprehensive Chelsea victory will see AVB in the cross hairs of many spuds fans which is where he was until the last couple of games. They have some good players but a poor manager - and we should know.

Agree that Bale is the only player from Spurs that would actually start for us. Maybe Kyle Walker or Dembele at a stretch, but apart from that no one else in their XI touches ours.

Having one world class keeper who stays fit, and a bad reserve keeper is far more appealing IMO than having 4 keepers with talent that's above average.

I can't stand international weeks, its just press and fans slating Chelsea players

Went to their website and they are totally f**king ........ DELUSIONAL

I dunno who the f*** Spurs fans think they are but they are not even a big club. They had one season in the CL and were even rubbish at that. The phrase 'too big for ur boots' springs to mind.

Doomed.

Dont be like that.....this is Right vs Wrong. Class vs Crass. History vs kittens. Originals vs Oil.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG . They have more history? More class? We are wrong? LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Being hated by Tittenham makes me a happy man! I return a higher level of extreme revulsion to WHL and look forward to watching CFC pee all over the hell hole on Saturday, a win please, no mercy!

I have to say, I'm not too hopeful about this one. A win would be good in so many ways - 5 wins on the bounce, AVB sticking it to Chelscum, pegging them back to 2 points, resuming after the international break with continued momentum, exorcising the ghosts of the CL qualification battle last year, the list is endless.

And that's why we wont win, it would be too perfect. Plus it's an early kick-off and I always feel that the Lane is much more lively at night, hopefully everyone going will make a fvcking racket anyway!

Gallas has to play this match, he seems to roll back the years whenever he plays a big match, but especially against the 2 scums. With that in mind, I'd go for Caulker at CB and Vertonghen at LB. I would like to see Naughton given a chance at right back but we all know that will never happen and Walker will get torn a new one.

With regards to the optimistic post about Livermore and Sandro at CM, Huddlestone played alongside Modric in a 4-4-2 against Chelsea at home when we beat them 2-1 and qualified for the CL a few weeks later. Hudd had an easy game that afternoon but consistently played well in a 2 against all sorts of opposition that year, which requires energy and (obviously) tracking in defense. I think to suggest we should field Livermore because he is a better passer than Wilson is misguided considering we have the much more experienced player in Huddlestone who not only is far superior to Livermore on the ball, but is also no mug defensively. Hopefully Dembélé will make it anyway.

Adebayor simply has to start this match. Defoe might 'deserve' to play based on his recent goalscoring, but Adebayor offers us seamless ball retention across the front, he is constantly on the move all over the pitch rather than around the edge of the box in the central channel. Plus he doesn't let this stop him from taking up excellent positions in the box, he just needs to bring his shooting boots (which admittedly isn't very often) and he'll score, even against Chelsea. The addition of Dempsey makes Adebayor's inclusion even more logical, Dempsey is a massive goal threat from deep, constantly popping up in the box for tap-ins, something which VDV wasn't (you never see Dempsey dropping back to the halfway line to dictate play). This somewhat mitigates for Adebayor having a wander/ being an inconsistent finisher. Dempsey could thrive alongside him as well.

Assuming the Mouss will not be gracing us with his presence:
---------------Lloris----------------
Naughton-Gallas-Caulker-Vertonghen
-------Sandro--Huddlestone--------
Lenno-------Dempsey-----------Bale
-------------Adebayor--------------

#thfc AVB says there are no new injuries after the international break: "We certainly don’t expect any problems. Everyone is feeling okay."

Tottenham Hotspur @SpursOfficial

Andre: "We had good training with those not on duty. Now we add the internationals and we allow them to rest and be ready for the weekend"
"It's important to win and get closer to the top and show improvement and keep the flow like we had before the break."
"You can see the buzz around the ground everyone looks forward to it. It will be extremely hard and we are ready to fight."
"Our stadium is a very special place to place when the fans are behind us. If the fans put on a show the lads I am sure will respond"
"We are okay nothing new, long term is the same. Benoit making good recovery. Naughts & Jake threatening for a position"

Great news to hear there are no injury worreis and Dembele will be fit for Saturday, he's quickly becoming one of our most important players. Also nice to hear Naughton and Livermore are coming along nicely from injury!

Fair post Pandy, but I just feel that with Chelsea's athleticism in midfield that Huddlestone will get overrun. I can't say I saw the Panathinaikos game but from the ratings it still looks like he is far from his best. Having him on the pitch means there's a chance we'll see a thirty yard wonder-strike but there's also a chance he'll get breezed by time and time again by the likes of Ramires Oscar Mata and the back line will suffer.

As I've said I'd love to be proved wrong and for Huddlestone to have a terrific performance both in attacking and defensive terms but I just don't see it happening. One way or another, Sandro is going to have to play a blinder for us to get something imo, especially if he has got Hudd beside him.

Edit: Sounds like good news RE Dembele so nevermind this post haha. The issue of what we do without him will still be there but we'll deal with it another day I'm sure...

Not sure which thread this belongs in, but Dawson is on Talksport now. He's talking about Halo 4 now. :)

Hahahaha brilliant, yeh 1st time in it and we got to the QFs playing amazingly exciting attacking football, beating both Milan clubs on the way...

Is that from a Chavski fan!? Ironic if so... Who were Chelsea before the Roman Abromovich era? Big club? HA!!!
