*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Burnley FC ***

Don`t know if it has been mentioned earlier about our second goal but there were seventeen passes leading up to it and every player in the team touched the ball. I know its well early but it has to be a contender for goal of the month and even goal of the season

TF said exactly the same

Wasn't just you - I noticed he got caught wrong side of the ball a lot in the first half, but really cut down on that in the second. Some promising moments, and both held on to, and moved the ball well.

I personally think he needs a long, consistent spell partnering either Bentancur or Palhinha - either of them can put an arm around him and give him the mentoring he needs to adjust his positioning and anticipation. Hopefully he gets the opportunity for that as the season progresses.

For me he needs to learn from Palhinha at the training ground and watching him play

First choice CM's
Palhinha and Bentancur

But options for Gray and Bergvall should be

Palhinha and Bergval
Gray and Bentancur

But obviously Sarr gets game time as well, but might be the furthest forward of the 3 just now.

We were decent in the first half, but seemed like Burnley surprised us a bit. Much more solid second half. Kudus just phenomenal - that little dink he does before crossing it for the second goal is Ronaldinho-esque. Superb. Richy! What can you say? Two brilliant goals. I was talking about Richarlison with my mate on Wednesday, we both agreed he is a great striker when in form, but that he sadly gets injured too easily. Let's hope he can stay fit for a while now. Well done, Richy.

That boy Sarr - he's hard not to love. An engine out of this world. His passing game also miles better than last season. Bergvall had a good game as well, excellent when he got to turn and drive forward while destabilizing their defense - should be a great weapon for us this season. Gray looked a lot more comfortable in that central role as well. Another well taken goal by Johnson, ole ole ole!

We just looked more cohesive, more sound defensively, like we actually knew what we were doing. Safe. In control. I didn't worry even once (oh, well, a couple of times, as you do in a football match). Spence and Porro bombing forward all the same, but we only really got caught out once, and even then nowhere near the level of caughtoutness (lol) we saw last season. That's Frank in action - also how he slightly changed us second half and pressed them higher up the pitch - a manager making tactical changes! Who would have thought.

Very positive start! I'm buzzing. Let's keep going!

Makes a lot of sense as a description of him. His combination of technical ability and physical strength really is rare. The Dembele comparison has been made rightly imo. Somehow he also has good ball striking technique. What's the ceiling with that skill set?

I am genuinely struggling to think of a player as physically suited to his skillset in the game. His lower centre of gravity gives him an extra yard too, he really knows how to use defending players as 'buffer packs' to turn and propel himself forward. The way he can burst past people from a standing position is also sensational. I have to say, if we do make the addition which feels imminant and the other one or two which feel close, then there is plenty to be excited about. Frank has been loud in his praises of the fitness/conditioning team and that is very exciting. What was that second goal today? 17 passes? Every player touching the ball? Then Kudus blasting past matey from a standing position, then that sumptuous finish? THAT is Tottenham Hotspur! It's good to be back!!!!

One other thing I noticed which was significantly different (and welcome).
It seemed like everybody's first-touch was back on point. One thing I noticed a lot last season was how many of our players were not illustrating a good first touch. I am assuming this is part of the fundamental work Frank and the training staff have been doing, because a good first-touch is key to everything. Delighted to see it.

Yeh, seems alot of work on first ball, second ball, get control, use the ball well. Just seems all abit sharper
