I get that. I have recalled many times being at the UEFA cup win in 84 and it was one of my top three Spurs watching experiences, but the game has changed and the priorities internally at the club have changed. What the fans want is not considered any more. And I would watt ant that a fair few posters on here would be bleating on about injuries and fatigue to our first team if Poch had put out our strongest line up.
I get the argument but for me it doesn't apply tonight. These are the matches I want to see Spurs play in and I think POch would have got a pass tonight if he fielded a stronger team. This is Dortmund in Europe.

Anyway lets see what these young men are made of. They may surprise us all. COYS.

Wow. Huge game for Onomah. And for Mason/Carroll together. Not what I was expecting at all.
A score draw tonight would be fantastic (can't see a 0-0). A defeat by only a couple of goals would be more than salvageable next week. We've got options on the bench if it looks like things are going wrong. I feel strangely serene about tonight. No bad-feeling-in-pit-of-stomach. We might just be OK! COYS!!
A defeat by a couple of goals will certainly not be salvagable next week. Fiorentina are no yardstick for this game.

At least Dembele instead of Caroll could have resulted in midfield winning (especially considering Gundogan misses the game). I understand Dembele can't play 3 games in a week, but we have Aston fcking Villa on Sunday, which are a dross.
I don't see us troubling them with Mason/Caroll. Hopefully I'm wrong, but anyway I'm a bit upset now with this line-up.

Agreed. Dembele instead of Caroll will atleast win us the midfield battle. Or if Lamela is there, atleast he will give us the extra protection all over the field.

Hoping for the best, but fearing the worst.

Don't get this logic at all.

We've not approached it any differently than most of our other Europa league games all season.

The keeper first choice
Back 4 - Has been pretty much this all campaign
Carroll or Mason has pretty much played in all games
Son, Eriksen has played in most EL games
Chadli needs games.

Wish we had Clinton playing today because I really enjoyed the side that smashed Monaco 4-1. Again it's not far off that team.

Theyre disappointed on the BVB forum i registered on too. Its pretty disrespectful to two great clubs and sets of fans in my opinion. I was nervous aboout the game - really fudging up for it. Now i just feel peeved and a bit apathetic. Obviously I still hope we can make something happen. But I've honestly lost a bit of respect for Poch here.

Why bother with football anymore when you don't even field your strongest side in games like this? Whats the point? Guess this is more important for the project or the product or whatever. These could be the legendary night - we could easily be saying in 15 years time 'remember that night we beat Dortmund away'. Folkloric. Don't think many will feel the same about beating Villa.

When can we, as fans, be allowed to enjoy the game anymore for what it is - a game? Why can't we compete with Dortmund? The spirit amongst the fans and clubs has been brilliant leading up to this. Its been ruined somewhat for me now.

Lets hope us doom a gloom mongers are wrong.

I hope a heavy negertive result won't damage confidence going forward.

The only difference to Fiorentina away is Lloris in for Vorm (+1) and Onomah playing for Alli (-1)

I think Onomah will be affected in someway from this match. If we do well, everyone will be praising him and his morale will be lifted. If we do badly, he will be blamed and his morale affected for a long time.

Be great if we lose 4-0 tonight then draw with Villa on Sunday.

There is no excuse for this.
