We need way more incision and better technique on the forward areas. Our final ball is poor, our crossing is poor our through ball none existent and those 3 are our primary method of attack.

It's hard to have positives. Villa beat them by sitting back on the break. We will never play like that.
I'll take the positives that we took the game to them. Won the possession battle. Lost 5-4 over two legs to a title chasing side. We are a work in progress.
Next season we need a quality wide forward. A backup LB. Another striker option and another midfield option.

I find it's rare we actually try a through ball. And when we do it's after we've gone sideways for 20 mins and the defensive shape is set. Then it's some desperation forced pass

I didn't speak on how we conceded I spoke about what we didn't do going forward....
We scored a pen and goal from a pass from their keeper. We didn't open them up, we didn't create much of anything.

We are a one trick pony under Aussie Ardiles, it's not going to help throughout a full season. We have been found out easily and have been awful for the first half in the last 3-4 months. It's worrying that the manager has no idea how to change it up or manage the in game tactics.

Like i say, I'm not seeing a plan going forward with the ball over the last 3 months or so, we look clueless in posession and wrt movement off the ball
