*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v APOEL ***

A Championship level opponent that got to the last 16 of the Europa League last season and Champion's League quarter finals in 2011-12?

Easy to do if you get the right draw. There's a lot of dross teams in the CL until you get down to the elite dozen or so. Don't believe the hype

Just had a message from my director ....
He has a meeting bout in Cyprus which I’d have been at if I hadn’t been away

He is having to share a room with his boss on turkish side as all the rooms have been taken up by spurs fans

Annoyingly though he has two exec tickets for the game but out top boss won’t go as he doesn’t like footy

I'll take any sort of a win in this. I don't care too much about the performance considering the absentees (though I will in the match thread later :().

If we want to proceed 3 points is a must. It might even be described as a must win.

So youngsters not on the bench for the CL game:

Spurs: De Bie, Eyoma, Brown (Dinzeyi 87), Marsh, Tanganga, Skipp, S Shashoua, Roles (Griffiths 72), Sterling, Edwards (c), Bennetts. Substitutes (not used): Austin (GK), Lyons-Foster, Omolabi, A

(i.e. the U19 team that played them this afternoon)

Your so stupid it's unbelievable! How many championship sides reach the latter stages in EL/CL on a regular basis? Get off your high horse and try to smell the reality!
I think that's a bit harsh on @Gutter Boy . No Championship sides qualify for CL, but that doesn't mean that teams from other countries aren't at Championship (or lower) standard. That being said, it is a CL tie so nothing should be taken for granted and, just as a Championship side can beat a PL team on any given day, the same can happen here.

Would a championship standard team only have lost by 3 in the Bernabeu? And won their league 5 (I think) times in a row? Thinking we're going to roll these over easily such that we can rest a whole host of players is very naïve. We might of course end up winning 4-0, but there's plenty of England-Iceland type games which mean that we need to put a respectable side out; given all the injured or suspended players, that more or less means picking every first choice player available, not resting TA, Kane, Lloris etc

Beaten to it - aghast (but not totally surprised) the OS was showing todays match header with extensive detail from Saturdays trip to Stratford, I hastened to the UEFA site.
