This season, it will be 11 years since we last won a trophy, the League Cup in 2008. Remember, we had never went more than 10 years without winning a trophy since the 1950s until we failed this time. History books won't forgive Levy and Pochettino for failing to keep that record. But they still have one more proud record to keep. We have won at least 1 trophy in each of the decades since the 1950s. As next season will be the start of a new decade, we must win a trophy this season to continue that record. Since we won our first trophy in 1901, we have only failed to win any trophy during the World War periods of 1910s, 1930s and 1940s. We have won at least 1 trophy in other decades apart from that. Wish Pochettino will realise the importance of continuing our proud tradition. Pochettino has never treated the Cup competitions seriously and due to that we have been shyte in almost all the Cup matches except the CL. Wish Pochettino will at least aim to get revenge over Watford for losing to them in the league a few weeks ago. We have to play our best available players against Watford instead of playing fringe players and youngsters no one has ever heard of !

Our form have been inconsistent this season. After winning the first 3 matches, we lost the next 3 and have just won our first match since then. So, we badly need to continue our winning form in this match. We can only do that if we play our best players in this match. Watford will give us more problems if we decided to play weak team in this match. Kane has not been in good form this season. But he can use this match to improve his form. Llorente can come on later in the match. Want to see others like Eriksen, Son, Moura and Lamela having a part in this match as well.

Our midfield is still troubled by injury problems. Wish Wanyama and Sissoko will be fully fit to start this match. Can't help but worried about Dembele as he is still struggling for form. Dier is normally error-prone but he did play well against Brighton. Not sure who will play in midfield for this match. Let's hope we will control the midfield which will help us win this match.

Our defence have not been good so far this season. We cannot seem to keep clean sheets as we are conceding too many soft goals. Will still play Vertonghen and Alderweired in defence. Sanchez makes too many mistakes and it will be too risky in a Cup match against another PL team like Watford. Gazzaniga did well in goal against Brighton. Let's hope he will have another good match and help us keep a clean sheet for once !

Performance is not really important in Cup matches as long as we win. Want to see Pochettino play our best team in a Cup match for once ! Let's hope we will do enough to win this match in normal time to progress to the next round of the League Cup.
 
Trophies per decade is a meaningless statistic in a pub argument. The League cup is a pointless distraction and we don't have the squad depth to pursue it in earnest. Good opportunity to try out some of the kids or to give minutes to anyone whose need for playing time outweighs the risk of injury. Which might just be Winks.

Wish we can have all our best players available now. We seem to be getting too many injury problems so early in the season. It is going to be another difficult match against Watford. We need to get an early goal to help us settle down and then go for more goals to kill the game off. Let's hope we will put up a convincing performance and get the much needed win to progress to the Round 4 of the League Cup.

I don't think Skipp or Oakley-Boothe will play, as they had a game on Monday at Everton.

Mate, it may have escaped your attention but Poch gives video press conferences - often re-posted on here - before the game where the journalists ask him questions, frequently to do with which players are playing and the Club have an actual website on the internet that gives team news a couple of days before the games. Finally, the team sheets are handed in to the match officials and put on the internet one hour before kick off.

Exactly, consider playing the first team if we get to the SF. Until then, give the squad a run out to keep them fresh.
 
Strange Llorente is only on the bench, would give him some game time. I'd start Foyth and KWP as well.
