Absolutely fair. We were brick in general in the first half. Bentancur was ok but playing against 3 men. I'd actually have Royal as our best player in the first half. The rest like you say were brick.

Not having it, a striker/attacker can get away with an anonymous performance but still poppining up with a goal or an assist - you need your central midfielders there from the first till the last minute of the game

I don’t believe Conte wants his central midfielders to dominate central midfield, if that was a must for him he’d play 3 in there. Providing moments of class and affecting the score sheet is worth its weight in gold if you can’t boss a game from there.
