// OMT - Spurs vs Everton \\

Ahhh ok, so your biggest fear was that he will play an Ossie midfield and we'll get walked over, but you think Harry has learned his lesson by now......but you dont think he ever played an Ossie midfield to begin with?

I see now, Rossi. Yes.

What on Earth are you on about?

> I said I don't want to see an Ossie midfield
> I said hopefully Harry has learnt his lesson by now
> Now all you keep doing is referring to the Utd game which I never said anything about!
> What is wrong with you?

Christ.

Me. No. Want. Pathetic. Lightweight. Midfield.
This. Has. Nothing. To. Do. With. Man. Utd. Game
You. Brought. It. Up. Not. Me
Not. My. Fault. That. You. Cannot. Remember. Past. Our. Last. Game.
Can. I. Make. This. Any. Clearer. For. You?

Not sure we can afford vdv RM in a 4-4-2 away from home at a decent side, can we? It did work away at arsenal last year but we were 2-0 down and said fudge it brick or bust!

I'm happy with the mantality of let's take it to them and attack, I'd just prefer to do that with 2 players holding and let the rest of the attackers do there thing.

Having said all that... I wouldn't be too disappointed with 4-4-2 just as long as modric is central.

I then said that he never played an Ossie midfield which made my initial comment completely and utterly bizarre and meaningless

I said Id play him there earlier but am definately having doubts now that Lennon is definately out. Question remains though, who else?

That was kind of the issue that made me open the can of worms in the transfer rumours thread and mention the name... Hoillett (Because he has all the attributes needed and would be cheap)! With the injuries our wide boys get he would get his fair share of games and could have slotted him in nicely at RM in these sort of games. Anyway, we haven't got that sort of player and the possible Lennon reserves (Bentley, Gio and Townsend) are not up to it, not ready, or both. This means square peg round hole time, with who do you prefer out of VDV, Kranky or Modric out there? Or change formation to 4-5-1.

I have no answers to any of these questions, I just like to ramble !!!

You do. You've already posted the correct answer ....

........................Freidel
Walker.......Kaboul......King..........BAE
............Parker.................Sandro........
.........................Modric.....................
........VDV................................Bale....
...........................Ade........................

I feel for Defoe but this is the most balanced line up we can play. If you play 4-4-2 with Defoe up front (like he deserves to) then who plays RM? I really don't like Modric out there it's a complete waste and means our best player sees less of the ball. We don't have any other RM other than Lennon.

what's wrong with the side that played at norwich and swansea when lennon was out sandro modric and parker in the middle and bale and vdv behind ade ?

if modric plays out wide i'll do my nut and we'll almost certainly lose

Livermore was fudging quality against these guys, would like to see him play again, but in fact I'd love to see Sandro play as well.

Got to be honest in that Parker has annoyed me recently, don't think he's done too well in recent times but hopefully the break (his fudging stupid self inforced break) will have freshened him up again as I assume he'll be playing tomorrow.

Haha!

I think Id go with VDV RW rather than drop Defoe though...at least see how it pans out first half

It would be difficult to leave him out for sure, we're just left with the issue of how to balance our midfield if he does start Defoe, there's little doubt he deserves to play though, I agree.

Nowt wrong with that side, but imo VDVs current form means that it wont be that side. Nothing against VDV...love him, but we should play our most in form 11, and at this moment, he is not in that, Defoe is.

No one should be undropable.

Have to say all of the above is correct imv. Livermore is improving rapidly.

I think our expansive football has got a little bit out of hand recently. And by that I mean players who are basically destroying the shape of the team too often. Bale in his free role is one example but so is Parker charging up the pitch. I'm all for a bit of movement but players have to stick predominately to their assigned positions and doubly so in the case of Parker. Parker plus our centre backs should be the immovable force in the heart of the team. It's not as if he is that effective up there anyway. Parker should know his strengths and play to them.

Livermore is looking better because he is doing his job, plain and simple.

Agree completely.

Parker should have an electric collar that shocks him everytime he gets in to their half, annoys me to see him getting in the way of our more creatively blessed players, halts our attacking game and also leaves us exposed, so achieves nothing either way. He's quite good at winning free kicks after holding on to the ball for too long but free kicks don't exactly get us far.

I want to see him winning the ball back and recycling possession quickly. Anything else is often cramping others ability to perform their roles as they should do.

As I mentioned on Weds night. I fear we have turned into Wilson Palacios. Great tackler, passing a little wayward and a lack of goals. Although the latter was not why we bought him, he did seem to get his fair share at West Ham

------------------Friedel-------------
----Walker---Kaboul---King---BAe----
----------Parker--------Sandro-------
-----VdV---------Modric------Bale---
----------------Adebayor------------

Subs- Cudicini, Nelsen, Rose, Livermore, Kranjcar, Defoe, Saha

Score- Everton 1 (Faillani) Spurs 2 (Vdv, Modric)

Parkers game has been a bit off recently. So has DVDs. To make way for Defoe, who deserves his chance, I think I would play Ade up front, Defoe behind him and a midfield quartet of Bale, Livermore, Sandro and Modric. Walker and BAE to have licence to attack with Livermore and Sandro covering them when they go forward. Bale to stay on the left and Modric in the middle please. Defoe works hard and we need to press a high line. Bale to take freekicks and Modric (by default only) to take corners. There. Sorted. Everyone happy?
