OMT Spurs - Fulham

Even if we aren’t as good as some of us think, we have surely got the players that should be able to see off Palace, Wolves and Fulham particularly when we have a one goal leave. Those sides have dominated us in the second half...one after the other. That is the bit I can’t get my head around.

Our bench options are decent and better than most. Dele, Vinicius, Bale and Moura have their limitations but they’re better than the subs most teams have. And yet a manager who is famed for making influential subs can’t use those players for us to get the better of Fulham.

Fulham have been improving of late!
This was always going to be a proper game!
We are though just not very good.

It's nonsense to deflect it on to the level of the squad when the same tactical plan is what is failing us time after time against weaker opposition, every single game we have thrown away points in this season we have looked comfortably the better team when taking the game to the opponents, it's only when we fall back in to Jose-ball that things go wrong. That isn't squad quality failing, it's a repeated tactical decision that is being punished

In the first half they had a lot of the ball in our half though, I don’t think that’s comfortable at all.

We’re all disappointed and I get it but when you have supposedly world class strikers missing easy chances and I counted at least four what can the manager do?
Then there was Hojberg one in the first half ffs

Game should have been out of site long before they scored
I reckon at least two of our good chances were offside and would've been chalked off with VAR

Which is why its such a mystery that we keep on doing it. Is it some mental thing? Surely Jose can't be so stupid as to tell them to do it? Can he?

A huge difference tonight was we played with no wide player on the right
Compare that with Leeds.
The issue is Moura isn’t very good
Lamela is very good
Bale isn’t able to run
So without Bergwein were screwed

oh and from 15 shots you should score more than 1 goal

agree on Lamela

So we are full of players he can’t trust? That’s worrying. I probably still would have put one of the other forwards on (Bale/Dele/Moura) considering it was 1-1 for 20 mins.

But we weren’t out of sight at half time; and yet we persisted with the same defensive tactics in the second half that have seen us drop points time after time after time this season.
We actually got more defensive I think..... The full backs seemed deeper in the second half.

So the goal didn’t give Fulham a point? Is that in the rules?

It obviously did however had we actually, you know, done some attacking in the second half rather than sitting back we could have expected to have been 2 or 3 up so their 1 goal on the counter would have been meaningless. Our tactics are simply unacceptable. Sitting back and hanging on to a 1 goal lead is unacceptable

When you play Sanchez and Sissoko in the same team you should never expect to win a game.
That seems like just blaming the same old players to me.... Dier was equally culpable for the goal as Sanchez (perhaps more so as there is no excuse for just missing a header). Son was worse than Sissoko today. Mourinho's team and tactics were the biggest problem though, pick only 3 attacking players at home to a relegation battler.... which other team would do that?

This part I agree with. Playing a weak team at home a lot of managers would put Tanguy in CM and then have 3 behind Kane.

Jose doesnt. Back 4 and then 3 CMs, none of whom attack the box. Appalling tactics
