He has been our best player this season arguably and a great improvement but does not have the mentality to finish off chances like to.day, he could have sunk Liverpool
and should have. I hate to say it but if arse were in the position we find ourselves in they would have not missed that chance!

Doesn’t mean he’s not a “decent player”, which was the question.

I’ve seen Aubamayang do that twice in the last few weeks, so maybe they would have.

Would have been hard at 5-1 down.

I do agee with your point though. I’d have preferred anyone but Sissoko in that position because he was never going to score.
 
I’m actually going to go the other way of some others on here.

I hope we keep the crop together and just add 2 quality players in the gap positions.

I think a full season at our own home off the back of no big tournament and we could go really well.

Believing this sort of b.ollocks is part of our problem. What happened today was not luck. It was a side that expects to find a way to win against a side that doesn’t.

This, this and THIS. I have said for over a year now (and been shouted down by a few on here) that Hugo is a serious problem. A keeper shouldn’t be captain, least of all one who almost always looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights in the tunnel before a big game. He provides no on pitch leadership whatsoever and often costs us in big games due to errors.

And yet some will tell you a strong and dependable captain counts for nothing nowadays.

Get rid this summer.

Getting rid would be a mistake.

However, he does need to understand he will be dropped for poor performance and gaffes. He is far too comfortable.

Let him and Gaziniga compete for the shirt. Like every position on the pitch should be.

Salads header was tame and arguably he should have done better
How often to do yo7 see it bounce off a defender and go in like that? It never happens to us does it

oh come on hes a good footballer but missing chances is not decent enough and will not take us to the next level. If he had taken those chances...its different
story and we probably would have won. Success breads confidence.
