But wasn't the same level of team we was when that model was introduced. As we progressed so should the model to include players better than were currently at the club.

I think we tried. It's just that we spent big money on the wrong players, time and time again. Our recruitment has been erratic at best.

My worry is it will take years for us to be able to compete for promotion. Firstly we'll be the team everyone wants to beat, and secondly our squad is not remotely suited for the fight that it will take to get back to the PL.

It really will set the club back years.

I disagree - I actually think we have a shadow squad that would compete well and be a good reset.
