Surprised they are pushing on with another American fascist movie in the current climate. Captain America just tanked in the global Trump backlash
A story about an alien brought up on a farm that devotes himself to saving the world is a fascist movie?
At some point you might realise you are the one that has issues.

At this point its just an over pushed franchise........I am fully with Scorsese with his assessment

I haven't watched a superhero film in years. But others still seem to enjoy them and pay to watch them. As long as the demand is there they will keep being made.

Thought Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning was excellent, but...
It should have ended when the screen turns blank, I thought that would have been a great natural ending, instead we get an extra 20 minutes of melodramatic nonsense

I've never watched a MI film. Are they all standalone or is there some continuity throughout the whole franchise?

I watched the pheonician scheme last night, I think I am at my limit with Wes Anderson films.

The last couple have been all style, no substance. Incredible ensemble cast but it's completely nonsensical and nobody actually acts like a human throughout. I get his style is quite whimsical / quirky, which is fine if it's a film about foxes or misfit kids but instead, everyone is just wierd and disassociates whilst one character just spews a bunch of dialogue; there's no real reaction, no smiling, very little blinking almost like Scott Pilgrim levels and it was an uncomfortable watch.

Agree. I find it wearing now. Life Aquatic and Grand Budapest are two of my favourite films ever, but he's starting to parody himself now. It would be nice if he did something very different next (and not an animation either)

Watched that up cinema and found the first half enjoyable with plenty of amusing moments which had audience laughing and thought that maybe he’s got back his mojo after the dire Asteroid City and French Dispatch.

However the latter half was more of the indulgent twaddle I’ve become inured to and the 105 minute runtime felt much longer than that as it meandered to some sort of conclusion.

In a broad contrasy to the tiresome hipster shambles of The Pheonician Scheme, I went to see mission impossible final reckoning with the missus.

I don't even really remember seeing a full mission impossible film before, but did it matter? Like fudge it did! Full of completely over the top with insane action scenes amd clichéd dialogue but rather than being a film nazi, I just enjoyed it, it was fun. Similar to Thunderbolts in that sense.

We've had the limitless passes for a couple of months and are cancelling because we're both skint. Too often these days I just find myself waiting for a film to end and it's mainly the rereleases that I enjoy and they don't really seem to advertise those too well....
