Nuno Espírito Santo - Sacked

i'll back him but for me, Potter should have been the hire. think Levy thought he needed a 'bigger' name. If he goes Arsenal eventually i'll be gutted
Potter has started the season again great
The key this time is his team are taking the chances
I’ve made my thoughts on potter know before
The poor bloke has had to grow a beard now to get some credit and be trendy

have to say though an awful lot of negativity on Nuno. he played it too safe on Palace and Watford, but City and Wolves away are tough games and you wouldn't change a winning formula after those 2.

In our first 6 games we'd have played City, Chelsea, Arsenal so not exactly an easy run in.

Especially with the hand he was dealt.
People seem to be forgetting how bad we were at the end of last season and how much has to be done.
It's not going to happen in six games.

Bloody hell we need to give this guy a chance! 4 games? Won 3 loss 1, albeit badly but down to major injuries. Let's not write Nuno off just yet. I think he is a decent manager and will do ok.

The problem come the end of the season, will be the same as in previous seasons, trying to compete on too many fronts without the squad depth.

that being said, moving Dele forward - terrible decision. Playing Winks, Skipp, Hjojbjerg deserves a 3-0 loss.

Nuno knows he fudged up. that much is obvious because the whole world saw it. It's now how he learns from it.

Completely. I think he'll have learned about WInks/Dele but i dont see the tactics changing

He did change the winning formula though! He played a midfield diamond, whereas he could have kept the same 3 in midfield and just brought Gil in for Son and stayed 4-3-3

I know... i specifcially mentioned about Wolves and City games leading to Watford not Palace.

For Palace, Nuno was dealt a bad hand and played it terribly. Plain and simple. I 100% believe he will learn from that though. Might not be the next 2 games given Chelsea and Arsenal, but i expect a much better selection going forward in those 'winnable' games.

We don't think playing relegation fodder is a winnable game?

v Emirates Marketing Project was a good performance clearly.
Wolves was a comfortable win
And Watford keeper made the most saves of any keeper this season
Both were good wins
They may not have been pretty or full of possession which is the thing people seem to want
But all 3 of our wins have been deserved, as was Saturdays defeat

Even his new signing didn’t join us for a week after signing
People forget the transfer window Closed during international break too so he didn’t even know who he was gonna have

chelsea and arsenal next (might want to check our record away at emirates), highly likely we'll be on same points by the end of that match.

It's a fair point and my comment was tongue in cheek. If we lose both of those games, particularly playing as we have been, he will be under severe pressure very quickly. That may not be right but he can't afford to lose three derbies in a row especially if the performances are poor.

I can't see us getting much this weekend but I am optimistic we can get something from Woolwich.

We didn’t win a league game then when we had a very strong settled side don’t forget
We regularly brick the bed there

Yeah we do and I’m not saying we’ll win but I think we’ll get something. Can’t see us losing three in a row and I really can’t see much other than a Chelsea win at the weekend.

You also have to remember that they are absolute muck. Especially compared to what they once were.

They were poor last year
We cried into our socks In a spineless display

GHod what a depressing thread, some of you lot come across as such negative tw@ts, fully expecting and waiting for us to fail. We have loads of positives, have some faith and stop slicing Spurs into a death of a thousand cuts.

I expect Levy was considering the bad press he would likely have got to have spent multiple millions of our not particularly large playing budget sacking managers to go from Pochettino to Potter (via Mourinho).
