Wouldnt mind Potter coming in and bringing in Ben White, Tariq Lamptey, and Bissouma. Sell Kane and get in Jesus, Laporte and Sterling .... Fantasy but thats a solid team there with 100mil to spend on some good quality players.
No, Romano is not a Guardian employee. He is a freelancer that occasionly gets stuff published by the Guardian.
They might have lines into the club but those lines aren't paratici or levy (gold has said that levy has only ever talked to him once to say hello, he doesn't talk to the press). Paratici isn't even in the country.
Those are the two that know what's going on and levy has even released an interview saying ignore what's in the media.
Romano just copies other people's stories and pretends that they are his information. He specialises in announcing a deal is completed after someone else has done it. He is a problem because there are people who hang on his every word and amplify him. It was him who was saying that Gattuso was at an advanced stage.
I agree with you on Gold, KP, JPB and Ornstein. I think that they are generally pretty reliable. Gold talks about how he won't write something unless he has multiple sources on his latest video, I think that he is also pretty good at being clear when he is writing about speculation.
The problem is that a lot of people just react to a headline and conflate it with gonad*s coming from Romano and elsewhere.
contracts are made to be broken ! But i think our lad levy is cleverly going through a raft of names to finally land on a 'magical' nameJust signed a new 5 year contract through to WC 2026
General yesSecond time someone says this - is it not just being wildly pedantic in relation to the point I was making? Which was that he probably has some general access across the game but that I didn’t consider him an authority on Spurs?
General yes
Spurs specific living in Italy …nah
The guy like so many is a blagger
The point was, why have those core 3-4 people not been making up another link to fill column inches?
Well, ‘a lot of people’ can’t mean me, as I’ve said repeatedly it’s those 3-4 people I trust, and not the others.
As I said before, top managers in the game aren’t going to be doing a detailed study on THFC just in case Levy/Paratici contact them. That's the process I was talking about.
To suggest that those managers don't know that position is available and are not preparing if they're interested is more than ridiculous.
Where does the money come from? Kane would be a straight swap for the 3 City players and even if you could somehow persuade Brighton to sell all three of those players they would likely cost at least £130m combined.Wouldnt mind Potter coming in and bringing in Ben White, Tariq Lamptey, and Bissouma. Sell Kane and get in Jesus, Laporte and Sterling .... Fantasy but thats a solid team there with 100mil to spend on some good quality players.

Mate, you interview for a job upwards of several million £ a year, you prepare.
First call no, you would probably take about your style/vision/strategy but anything beyond that, you do a fudge load of work.

Agree. If a coach wants levy to give them the job. They'd have to show they can play in the way levy wants. Point out a few of the youth players that they are excited about. Some of the weaknesses in the squad. Concentrate on getting us into the cl again etc...
Paratici might be more difficult to convince as i'm not sure anyone (apart from levy) understands how he wants to take us forward.
Honestly it wouldn't be that hard
- To your points -> focus on some youth players or players you believe you could get more out of
- Run some data on GA, xG, etc.
- Take about how you would address the perceived defensive challenges of last season (what type of goals we conceded, e.g. individual errors, set pieces, etc.)
- Talk about how your style would align to Levy's DNA message
- Perhaps even mention the types of players you think the club should invest in to improve squad/balance
- Some flimflam about how you believe in the core of squad
- First year, second year objectives ...
And talk about how you did similar to some of those scenarios in the past ..
Didn't Martinez win the FA Cup with Wigan? Beating Emirates Marketing Project in the final? And then getting relegated.
I'd be happy with Martinez -- he might have learned a bit more on organising a defence over the last 8 years. Or he might just have been relying on Alderweireld and Vertonghen!
I also think Potter would be a sound appointment. Definite echoes of Poch's time at Southampton, despite being at an even smaller club.
I voted for Poch back in the last poll (heart over head though) but prior to that being an option would have been pleased to get Potter.
I think a lot of the other candidates' appeal is the exotic. If Potter was managing Ajax I have no doubt he would win the league, similarly PSG, as his style would suit the attacking players they have. Then we'd want him, but perhaps then he wouldn't come to us...
