Next Manager?

This is the longest trophy drought since probably the 50s IIRC...in terms of overall Trophies i believe Emirates Marketing Project and Chelsea only very recently surpassed us.

We were 4th/5th in terms of overall trophies until recently. In teh scheme of things in English football, we are a big club, but have been in the doldrums for too long

See my post above, could do it for all 14 decades but basically we peaked 50's-80's and really outside of 60's in terms of trophy returns we have never had a dominant decade.

But Mourinho has been an anti-football bully for 20 years. Alli, Dier, Winks have track records of performing well at the top level, before tactics (bypassing midfield and the low block) and confidence destroyed them in the past two seasons. There could easily be a resurrection, especially for Alli

Did you not watch Mourinhos teams at Chelsea (MK1) and Real Madrid? so not really a anti-football bully. And further to this, he played within his contraints at Porto and Inter with magnificent results (The trophies prove this).

Alli had an amazing break out season, followed by a very good season ... not exactly proven or consistent. But ill give it to you he may not have suited Mourinhos tactics.

Winks? Disagree

Dier? You are having a laugh.

I hope him and the new DOF are strong enough to do the required off loading.

A large chunk of this squad don’t deserve another chance

Amen to that its what has been needed for a while now. It amazes me to hear s ome fans say we do not need a big overall of the players who have let down Poch ( last season) and also Jose and Mason.

Purely from a PR/Comms perspective today (Tuesday) would be a good day for the announcement - enough time has passed since the England match on Sunday. Tomorrow morning is fixture release day and by Thursday it will be the build up to England v Scotland which will then dominate coverage Friday and Saturday.

This is of course on the assumption that all negotiations including salary, backroom staff etc are completely tied up. If he is currently in Portugal I'm not sure what the implications will be on him travelling - I suspect we wont therefore see him on the balcony at the training ground?

You are assuming that it will be viewed as good news which they want to push. They might go for 7:30pm on Friday to avoid the 'the guy that's so crap, they actually sacked him for dinosaur Mourinho' gonads.

Quarantine may be a consideration if they want to do it at the training ground. If he flew in on Friday, they would be doing the 5 day test tomorrow

This is a really interesting point - I remember Sherwood was announced just as Arsenal v Chelsea kicked off on a Monday Night game! I thought at the time it was Levy way of trying to steal their limelight but probably it was to sweep it under the carpet?!

Some outlets and people will say that regardless of when it is announced.
'Banter'

I imagine the Star and Sun might be a bit distracted by putting up pictures of his wife instead.

Most of the criticism will come online, so timings don't really matter and those people will moan regardless. Social media moaners also aren't representative of the wider fanbase which is what the club will primarily focus on. The inkies don't really matter much now and will be focused on the Euros.

This is not a problem.... augmented reality.

Good opportunity for the HP Reveal.

Just do a zoom call like the rest of the world in the last 15 months, why does it have to be in person? Wasn’t Paratrici revealed with a video interview?
