Ole Gunnar Solskjær. Anyone think he could be worth a shout for a bit?
Only if its him coming off the bench to play up front with 15 minutes to go. :)

This was my worry in sacking Frank (although last night unfortunately meant that had to happen). That Redknapp, Mason, Solskjaer and De Zerbi are being touted as contenders sends chills of fear down my spine.

I'm really not sure it would work second time around, but I think we have arrived at a situation in which the Poch solution is the best option open to us, given where we are as a club. I think there is zero chance that he comes pre-World Cup, no matter what we offer him (IF the WC goes ahead - and I am not certain it will.). I could see it working if it was announced that he would be coming aftyer that competition and if Jesus, as someone has suggested, was sent ahead of him to work alongside Hetinga. Poch could, of course, be taking an active role in discussions in the background.

The worry is that if we appoint him post-World Cup it will be late July before he arrives with us and we are then into a very rushed preparation for the new season.

But maybe that's just fantasy on my part.

Ofcourse the world cup is going ahead.

Depends what Trump does between now and then.

It probably will (it will need to be something significant for countries to boycott due to the money invlvolved) but I wouldn't look on it as certain. He is behaving in an increasingly deranged way - and that, in itself, is saying something, given the starting point.

I think McKenna could be a good coach for us but question marks remain over his ability to deal with the expectations of a club our size. Would have us playing good football though

Heart says Poch and always will until he gets another go at it. Not sure if the board would like him back though, I imagine he’d have more sway the second time and could be a power struggle

Given the reaction of a large chunk of our support to us hiring the Brentford manager, I can only imagine the response were we to appoint a manager who oversaw his side being relegated, and who currently plies his trade in the Championship.

Difference being the football that is played. I can’t think of any manager that stepped up in level to a bigger club and played pragmatic and defensive football and been a success. There are examples of managers stepping up and playing attacking front foot football and doing well. I think McKenna falls into the latter category

Knutsen from Bodø Glimt, the only thing is that he would need 2-3 years to build a team and we dont give that. But hell he can make a team play like a team.

Was discussing Knutsen with my mate yesterday. Not sure his team building would translate to a big club like Spurs. How do you make these overpaid superstars work together both on and off the pitch like the Bodø guys do? I'm not sure you could make them in this day and age. Too many egos with too much money and Instagram likes. I may be wrong though. Then get the local community and fans along with you for the ride.

If allowed to build a team, he would be ideal, but the cultures are so different I reckon it wouldn't work. Also, his daughter is apparently sick and in need of care back in Norway.

Yea where has this notion come from? I’ve heard it twice today on here, but never heard any mention of it outside of today or this forum?

The German FA and UEFA more widely have been talking about boycotting it in response to American colonialism:

The board are chinless nobodies. There would be no struggle.

McKenna is a great coach. He's also one of our own.

That’s part of my thinking for why they wouldn’t want to appoint him. The fans would turn on the board before Poch, they might like someone else to take the bullets

I don't think they are in it for much longer (if we DON'T go down).
IF Poch comes in the summer, i think he will be the last manager they appoint as owners of THFC
